A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Fairing For Sale

I just received this 2 days ago. I installed it on my bike and the fit was good. Unfortunately for me it's not the look I'm going for. I'm willing to let it go for a reasonable price. Let me know if you're interested and I'll send pics...

    Windscreen/fairing question

I received the fairing, installed it, took a ride around the block, came home and removed it. Just not you'll look I'm going for. I'll let it go to for $50. I'm having a really hard time posting photos on this site. If you're interested and want pictures, PM me.

Twinpot Brake upgrade on 78 Skunk

I definitely want to do this to my 1980 850L. Is there anything extra I need to do besides purchase the kit, rotors and calipers?

    Windscreen/fairing question

Good catch! Sorry if my post was misleading. Yes, my 850 has a round 7" light. He could always convert to the same, unless he's trying to stay OEM.

I haven't owned a shaft driven bike since my 84 Honda Nighthawk S. Honestly, for the purpose of the bike, I can't say I mind. This is my putt around town/ride to work bike. Nearly zero maintenance, I'm okay with that.

Thanks! Honestly, they're installed for asthetic purposes. They work okay, but I'll probably upgrade. I'd recommend spending the extra on better quality.

It took a bit of research to find the right size. My forks are 37/60mm. I found these on eBay. Size 37/57 but they fit nicely. Here's the link: https://ebay.us/m/HruAYA

Hello all, new to the forum. I recently purchased a slightly modified 1980 GS850L and added finishing touches to make it a proper Cafe Racer. I'm looking forward to absorbing as much knowledge as possible. I'm absolutely loving this bike. Thanks in advance for any advice I may receive. Regards, Mike
