I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

    Two bad SH775???

”With regards to KIWI post (#5) above, shouldn't (good) diodes in the R/R stop any reverse current flow from the battery through the R/R to the shorted stator windings?” yes……

    82 1100ez vacuum petcock question

”…..Many think there is a RES. tank, but that ain't right. If the inlet tube for "on" is too long, it will make you need to go to RES. sooner, with more gas left for the RES“ And different petcocks have different inlet tube lengths…my 650L original petcock would need to go into RES quickly ...

    Wandering Idle Set Screw?

When not yet warmed up…but choke off…my 650’s idle is less than 900 rpm and you can feel it struggling. After some running, it will hold steady at 1200 rpm without complaint. After a good hot run, it’s still holds this idle. I set my idle stop screw to to this hot condition.

Fuel leaking from the altenator cover!!!!

The 650 shafties are plain bearing crankshafts …..they won’t like working with oil contaminated with gas….so change oil. Obviously, find gas leak. Be suspicious of petcock, so check for its correct operation….if it fails, gas can leak down the vacuum line on #2 carb spilling into #2 cylinder and...

No spark on number 4, looking for coils.

with still no idea why I don't have continuity between 1 and 4. well , you found out that that the coil/plug wire connection was weak. Since you still have the points ignition setup, you might be better off looking for used coils….lots of newer versions have lower primary resistance which...

    GSX 250 starter solenoid issue

You’re doing fine …the starter motor circuit is designed to tolerate a battery voltage drop as motor engages…it’s sorta like a brief short circuit!

    motor goes wild by starting

Your enricher- “choke” - system is probably stuck “on”. Maybe the idle stop screw is set wrong too. The enricher circuit has its own air supply to bypass throttle position

New Coils, no spark at 1 and 4. Narrowed down to CDI (maybe?)

”From the coils, outer plug wires go to 1 and 3 and inner plug wires go to 2 and 4.“ odd description…. the left ignition coil connects to 1 and 4…right connects to 2 and 3

    Electrical problems with 1982 GS300L

”but the bike was having the same issues as last time, which were solve with a new stator and voltage regulator.“ Maybe then the ignition system was misfiring due to faulty charging/ connections producing erratic idling. But still sounds like carb/fuel issue or air leak at cylinder head. Did...

New Coils, no spark at 1 and 4. Narrowed down to CDI (maybe?)

Double check that the spark plug wires are going to correct plug. If you got fuel and spark, it should at least cough.

    Electrical problems with 1982 GS300L

This issue doesn’t sound electrical to me….tell us how you or someone cleaned the the carb. Sounds like pilot circuit is not operating properly….perhaps clogged…..so revs bounce around

“No visible cracks or damage" says the seller! BS alert!“ be gentle, he did say they were for “parts only”….90% complete! those frosted cards from other seller likely to have hidden surprises. didn’t someone on here post a link to float post repair? Maybe OP is the creative type!
