A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    1981 gs650g project

Hi and Welcome to the Forum You may find what you need at https://gsarchive.bwringer.com/ Lot of good info and access to service manuals. First priority is "will it run". Start with whatever is needed to make it fire, run and idle. That will give some insight as to weather its worth keeping...

    Timing chain replacement without teardown

Something else to consider is the condition of the cam chain tensioner blade. I sourced a new one from Suzuki Performance Spares (UK). If you need one, they cost a bit more, but they are rated as heavy duty. You can email SPS to check availability for the 850.

Anyone Get A Cortizone Injection ?

My wife had some serious pain in one of her elbows. She got a cortisone injection and it helped a lot. For the longer term, I can highly recommend a small daily dose of CBD oil. I'm not sure of the legality of Hemp products in Canada but here in Australia there is now a booming market in Hemp...

79 and 80 model GS850G Engine part options

If you have stock pistons and only need a set of rings, IMD Pistons has a listing. I've used IMD rings in my 1980 1000GT - so far so good https://imdpistons.com/products/suzuki-gs850gt-piston-ring-sets-4

    Cruzinimage GS1000 gasket set

Hi Kochic - I've recently rebuilt my GS1000G engine with a Cruzin' Image gasket kit. I too found OEM gaskets virtually impossible to find and the cost for individual gaskets, plus shipping and the Australian Governments Goods and Services Tax (GST) made it financially unviable. All of the...

    Removal of gs850g driveshaft seal.

Are you attempting to remove the secondary drive housing to replace the O ring? If yes, you can loosen the crankcase bolts directly below that housing. Just crack them off, no need to fully remove them. That will relieve the tension of the upper an lower cases on the secondary drive housing and...

Drama free is right. Was quite nervous and kept second guessing what I may have overlooked. I did spend a lot of time setting up the carb rack on the bench before installation. The exhaust is a Delkevic COM2765 from an eBay seller here in Australia. I had it sitting in my watch list for about 4...

Big Bore or Piston Options for 1980 Suzuki GSX400E

Hi xxenzor I was able to source a piston ring kit from https://imdpistons.com/ . They have piston and ring kits listed for the GS400. Not sure if they are compatible with the GSX400, but an email to them might prove fruitful

G'Day Lucas Welcome to the forum. Lots of great information and people here. Congrats on your ownership of some vintage GS's. Terrific bikes as they have really proven solid over time. Hi Nessism Just checking to see if you are still providing Mikuni O-Ring Kits. I'm interested in ordering a set for my 1980 GS1000G with BS34 carbs. Also, on the off chance, would you also be able to supply the tiny washers that go against the pilot screw springs? (as per attached) Cheers - Syd

    A New to me 1978 GS 750

Hi GS-Newb and welcome to the forum. I had a 1978 GS 750E back in the early 90's. Totally stock except for a 4 to 1 exhaust. Only needed to have one valve shim replaced due to a tight valve. It rode faster than I was prepared to push it. You'll find tons of knowledge on this forum and, as...

New member : 1981 GS1000G Aftermarket exhaust advice

Hi Piers I have recently fitted a Delkevik 4 into 1 on my 1980 GS1000G. The rear brake pedal was close to the collector, but I modified the muffler bracket to lower the overall system by about 1.5 centimetres. The brakes are freshly overhauled, bled and pedal lock-stop adjusted. I have...
