A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Identify this part

A friend and former GS1100 owner offered to give me this part that he bought prior to selling his 1100. He offered it because he knows I'm going to be replacing the crank seal on the right side. Its been years since he had his 1100 and was of the impression that this item was related to...

Twinpot Brake upgrade on 78 Skunk

Thanks for responding Chuck. Does anyone know if one particular bike model caliper would be better than another?

Bicycling from CA. to MI. to pick up my 1982' GS450T then drive it back to CA.

Personally, I'm both amazed and surprised the 450 motor survived such an endurance test. Especially in light of it being around 30 yrs old. In-friggin-credible!!

Twinpot Brake upgrade on 78 Skunk

On the page that Hannibal posted a link to you it states, "Suzuki also used this caliper on the VX800, GS500 and the GSX1100G". Can someone tell me if there is a specific yr model I should be looking for? Thanks, Willie

    Front brake upgrade choices

Thanks guys. I should've mentioned that I'd planned on going with the Salty Monk setup just I have in the past. My question is/was, of all the different choices of rotors and twin pot calipers, is there one or 2 setups in particular that stand out as being preferable over the others? If so, I'll...

    Front brake upgrade choices

Its been yrs since I updated the brakes on one of my GS's. I'm hoping that in the yrs since then 1 or 2 particular caliper and rotor combos has risen to the top with regard to preference/performance. With that hope in mind, I'd appreciate some advice on what calipers and rotors to look for to...

    Shake During Deceleration?

Happened upon this thread and couldn't agree more with the advice to get rid of the Dunlop tire. I had a head shake problem with an 1150ES many yrs ago. Checked everything including having the frame examined on a laser table. I was a big fan of Dunlop at the time and a fresh front Sport Elite...

    Deal's Gap Dragon Tail

I used to ride the Dragon several times/yr however, for numerous reasons, I found it less appealing with each return visit. It was a hard habit to break and each time I went there I told myself it'd be the last. I've been Dragon-free for a couple of yrs now and don't miss it in the least. I will...

By any chance have you been approached yet by Hollywood for your story? I sense a movie in the not too distant future. ;)

    Anyone use Forking by Frank

I happened upon this thread and would like advice on where to send a fork tube to get straightened. I think one or both of the tubes on my 1100E have a VERY slight bend. I can't justify replacing them if I don't have to. Another thought was to replace the entire front end since I want to upgrade...

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

WOW!! I didn't even notice the tree until you mentioned it in your response. I was too busy lusting for the Connie and looking through the window. NICE! (and way cool re: picking up the tree with the Connie. Calendar material, IMHO.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Hey Dorkburger, where is/was the Moon Motel sign located? Its a damn shame that signs like that are being demolished. It'd be great if someone would buy it, even if it was placed in storage, to save it from being turned into scrap metal. There's a guy near here (ie. Rogersville, TN) that has...

An Old Girl in a new Dress, '83 GS1100E

Thanks for posting a link to the build thread. VERY informative, interesting and thought provoking. I'm tempted to get a quote from RR to go through my 1100 engine. Oh to have some disposable income. Or some income at all. lol
