A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Suggestions for Replacement GS650E front master cylinder

The front master cylinder from my 1981 gs650E has stopped pressing fluid. It also looks like crap. Is there a satisfactory aftermarket unit which looks similar and works correct that the forum could suggest? Thanks Rich

    GS700es broken timing chain.

I got the 700es pulled apart tonight. #1 and 4 exhaust rockers are broken. Timing chain is out. I blew compressed air in the cylinders to see if they will hold any pressure. #4 was not holding much pressure. Is there any way to see if the valves were bent? Or if a piston is damaged without...

    HD, 883 sporster (with built1200), vs my 81 gs750(1166)?

I have owned a couple quick harleys and buells. A vrod street rod, XR1200, xb12s, xb12stt, xb12x and a couple Blast P3s. The bikes are "Harley" fast not Suzuki/Kaw/Honda/Yam Fast. A really early episode of the show "Pinks" ran a mildly modified Vrod A model vs a early GSX1100 4 valve. My...

GS650G all welded joints except 1... Is this normal?

Gorminrider: The fiche is exactly what I'm used to seeing. I have a gs700e pipe which pulls the center 2 head pipes. We pulled the PO's header wrap, loosened up the brackets on pipe and bike and with a little prying were able to get bolts lined up. The right tube is thousands close to the...

    1150 Engine into a GS1000 E frame

I've done the 1100 in 1000 frame. As I recall 1 or both of the bottom bolts do not not line up. some minor surgey removing the tab or tabs is required. The conversion seemed very straight forward

GS650G all welded joints except 1... Is this normal?

We are assembling the GS650G and got to the exhaust. The exhaust is completely welded together except for the right side muffler. When I bolt the exhaust on the bike it looks like the #4 head pipe is contacting the right downtube under the ignition cover. I can't seem to get the rear mounting...

GregT could you email me when you know something? I'm a few weeks from tearing apart my ES to decipher the extent of the damage. I would love to hear your thoughts on the oil system. Thanks.
