All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Looking at the 2019 Yamaha FJR1300A. Any experience, opinions appreciated.

No cruise on the C14. For sure dealers are folding at a rapid pace. My local dealer has replaced the bikes with 4 wheelers and snowmobiles, and say they are doing a lot better. They have a few bikes in the corner, some new and 4 years old. I am a couple years older than you, and was terrified...

Have a look at the Concours 14 too. Your ZX14 with better ergos and bags. After a flash it is 150-ish RWHP and a blast to ride. The seat probably could use changing if you are after 700 mile days but 400 is OK.. and they are CHEAP used.

    Very Strange Carb Sync Problems

Just a thought, is the gas cap vent clogged? If it dies and you open the gas cap is there a whoosh sound? Happened to my 850. Would run fine for 1-5 miles then die. Eventually it would start up again. If I opened the gas cap it would start and run fine again.

    I found a 1983 GS750ED

And it is located 4 miles from me. Hoping to meet up for lunch Tuesday. Canadians aren't safe here without an escort. Fair amount of open carry here in the red part of the bluest county in Washington....

Anyone know of a high quality vacuum petcock?

It is most likely the o-rings around the needle seats. They keep gas from bypassing the needle and seat. Get an o-ring kit from cycleorings.com.

    Testing an igniter

Check the connections to the Ignitor as well. I had intermittent spark on a GS1100, turned out the PO packed the connector for the pickup full of dielectric grease, which is a great insulator. Cleaned it out, tightened the connections, many miles ago.

Buy another head, with the caps. Cheaper than the required machine work.

Pet is going bad, is it "safe" to operate the bike with the pet on "PRIME"?

Also check to see that the vent in the gas cap isn't clogged. Run the bike until it sputters, open the cap. If you hear a Whoosh the vent is plugged.

    Strange GS Related ebay Transaction

Ah, I misunderstood. So you have the money, the buyer has the money, and eBay got some of their money back by selling or possibly consigning the carbs to a liquidator along with the listing details. That makes more sense.

    Strange GS Related ebay Transaction

Have you heard from the buyer in Hungary? Seems like he is the one that is hurt here. You have the money, the buyer has nothing. Is "Global Delivery" owned by eBay or a third party? This needs further investigation, maybe by a TV "consumer advocate"
