A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Bike only starts with throttle

I used the word "choke" because regardless of how it actually functions, its described everywhere as a "choke" the plunger even features a little "c". The battery is only about a year old but I will check that and the charging system, thanks

Do I Need the Petcock Vaccum?

the vacuum Petcock on a GS has three settings: On, Prime and reserve. On, is the vacuum setting. Reserve allows you to use the last .8 gallons of gas in the tank, so if you have the tank set to ON you run out of gas you can switch to reserve and have enough gas to make it to the next gas...

    Bike only starts with throttle

Hello, So I have a '81 gs850g. Been riding for a year. The Valves and carbs were synced recently to spec. It's always started easily with the choke open, once it fires it idles high so I lower the choke and let the bike warm up a bit while I put my helmet on. Yesterday I decided to go for a...

    Newbie Mistake.

I wouldn't say I'd get a kick out of it but I'm glad your ok. I don't think i'd ever put a windjammer on my bike but I'd be tempted to keep it if I got one that came with it. I don't think i'd ever buy a new goldwing but I like those 80s goldwings with full fairings and cassette players.

    Newbie Mistake.

I pulled out from my house and felt a clunk, then it felt like someone grabbed on the brakes and I was down. I got the bike back up (the proper way) she started right back up like nothing happened. I took her slow around the block. Confused I parked her and looked around. Nothing seemed amiss. I...

    Oil Leak, what to do?

So yesterday I took her for a short ride to the store and noticed that it seems like oil was leaking out of the left exhaust bolts. I degreased it let it dry and today applied baby powder. I started it and let it warm up took some pictures then took it for a short ride around the block and took...

    Oil Leak, what to do?

I just got my GS850g running good. Valves Adjusted, Carbs synced, and Fresh Tires. Now she is leaking oil pretty bad from the left side. Bad enough that if I run her up on the Highway for longer then 30 minutes my boots and my left shin is covered in motor oil. It seems like it's coming from the...

    Suzuki GS400L 1980 - cafe racer project

I don't really get the "cafe" racer fad but I do really like what you are doing. I really like the colour. Looks like a 70s custom van. I guess personally I would have switched out those awful stock handlebars and rode it as is, but hey it's not my machine.

First time I left my parish (county) on 2 wheels.

Gators are super common all over South Lousiana. So common infact there is a gator hunting season. I think they are sorta cute but if you own a dog you gotta watch out because they will eat it. I have no idea about the headlights and blinkers. I got the bike from a guy who bought it in Maryland...
