DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Concerts that mark major moments in our lives

I think your maybe five years or so older than I, but I definitely enjoyed her music from 1983 ish on. Early days of MTV wouldn't have been the same without Cindy Lauper. Later on in my teens, mid to late 80's, she wouldn't have come up in conversations with buddies and if I wanted to listen to...

Our Sandia Mountains in January make a wonderful backdrop for sunset pics.

I was caught off guard with snow like that in Flagstaff a few years ago. Oddly enough, it was not as slick as I'd expected. Not that I'd willingly do it again, just sayin'.

    1978 gs 1000

With that many miles and the list of upgrades, it's been well loved for a long time. If you were in N.M. I'd be heading over. Shouldn't, but probably would anyways. Do you have any more photos? Oh, and what's a TIGed tank? Welded along the bottom seam? So is it aluminum?

If anyone feels like doing the summation but my entry is throwing a wrench in the process, feel free to not include it in the post. I'd do it, but an at work using a phone. If no summation we can always just scroll a bit like the old days, lol. I'll vote for dgates1 this week.

    Fairing For Sale

I'd kinda like to see this fairing on my 850. I think it along with the 4 into one exhaust I've been dragging my feet on installing, and different bars would transform the look and feel of this bike. Whether I'd like those changes or not remains to be seen. Hmmmmmm

Moto camping? Want to join us?

Haha:o, thanks, Rich. We were talking about aluminum and stainless steel earlier and the different types of welding. I had tig stuck in my head.

Moto camping? Want to join us?

I wonder why your user name doesn't pop up using the @tig1100 hmmm. Anyway, you just reminded me of a memorial day weekend ride a few years ago. A buddy from El Paso was meeting me in Socorro, NM and we were heading into the mountains for a weekend camping trip. About 20 miles from Socorro, his...

    Long trips anyone?

We used to use Google earth which had locations for lots of members, just in case you're on the road and need help somewhere. I've had a couple of folks come through Albuquerque that needed something. One was from I think New Orleans. mrhedgeswho needed a valve cover gasket. I had it shipped to...

Moto camping? Want to join us?

In regards to tools, I once heard a wise man say "you really only need two things, WD-40 and duct tape. If it moves and it shouldn't, use duct tape. If it should move but doesn't use WD-40." LOL He proved that to me in person while we attended a rally 1,500 miles from home. Well, I think it was...

That's awesome! At a glance, your son looks just like Quinton Tarrintino. On my phone's screen at arms length, anyway.

You're one of 'em, aint-ya? Kinda eluded to that in my previous post, how it came to be what it is today. OK, I'll quit with the technical mumbo jumbo. I've got tile to grout today. Looking forward to seeing what comes next in this week's entries.

I was being silly trying to take pics while a storm rolled in. It didn't end well. Fortunately, the Windjammer took the brunt of the impact and all that came of it was a sctatch on the tail pipe. https://giphy.com/gifs/IE6F5VsZTpBNxYq8Jt I'm not sure how to make this bigger.

Dave, I kinda like that dark and drab mural. Makes the imagination run wild. Bob and Glen, very nice photos. Rich, looks like you're in the spotlight after tagging that wall. Sure is a fun pic. Gotta go with dorkburger.

    Just got a 1982 GS650G have ?

Use whatever you like and is suitable for a wet clutch, with the ratings Rich just mentioned. If they're ridden somewhat regularly the synthetic stuff hasn't caused leaks in mine. YMMV.

I didn't expect that when I removed the Windjammer from my '83 850G and started trying to find replacement headlight and turn signals, I would find those exact parts, from this exact year and model that were taken off at the dealership and lost in someone's attic for 40 years. All of these parts...
