DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Vacuum Take Off Adaptor For Carb Balancing

When you've finished synching them, I suggest you use them to connect manifolds 1 with 4 and 2 with 3. I bet you'll be glad you did. ;) Willie

    E3 spark plugs

I put them in my Chevy Silverado. It was the first time I ever asked for a refund on plugs and, had I known how difficult it was going to be to get the company to honor their money back guarantee I would've never even considered them. Willie

15 Best Motorcycle Roads in America

While in Germany on business in '93 I refused to listen to the advice/pleas (ie. warnings) of my hosts re: riding a motorcycle on their roads. I rented a new ST1100 and proceeded to check out this autobahn thing I'd heard so much about. The only advice I did adhere to was to stay in the right...

15 Best Motorcycle Roads in America

    buffalo racer

Great site with a more than a couple of good people (not nearly as many as here but a few) Look for a guy that goes by the name TZ375. If I recall, his name is Richard and he's extremely knowledgable and helpful. Good luck and keep thos pictures coming. Willie

    GS 1100 stator needed.

FWIW, the RMStator in my 1100G lasted less than a yr and thats with a Honda r/r. The only good thing about it was a no questions asked return/replacement policy. I hope the replacement lasts longer than their 1st one did. Willie

    Homemade bead breaker

NICE bead breaker, good buddy! Unfortunately, I don't have enough "body mass" to use Billy Rick's device and my truck sits too high to use Nessism's idea. Sooooo, as crude as it may sound, I've been putting a 2X4 across the tire as close to the bead as possible and placing a board on the...

Anyone have an 1100G fender handy?

Yes. Thats exactly what I'm looking for and apologize for the confusion. I just thought it'd be easier to measure a fender than the forks. Also thought there'd be a better chance of finding a fender without a bike attached than a bike without a fender attached. :) Willie

Anyone have an 1100G fender handy?

The title asks the main question. Here's why I'm asking: I found an old tubular fork brace laying around and want to know if I'm so lucky that it will fit my bike. So....if you have an 1100G fender laying around please measure the distance from outer surface (where it makes contact with the...

    tranny area knock/chatter

I've had the same noise on 2 1100G's that I've owned. On one of them, the drive shaft snapped at the base of the threads. It still rode and powered fine because the design is such that the u-joint holds everything in place. On a different 1100G I found the output bearing was so worn that the...

    $5 clutch fibers/plates

FWIW, Norm, I agree with most of what you stated since my last post. I didn't mean to imply that OEM was necessarily better than aftermarket. I was just responding to your comment re: not knowing for sure what you're getting when you buy OEM. Having reread that comment though. I see that I...

    Another fuseblock thread (1980 1000G)

Excellent write up and very timely as I'm about to undertake a similar project on my GT750. I was leaning towards 18 AWG though instead of the 14 that you're using. Thanks for all the pics and details. Willie

    $5 clutch fibers/plates

I don't want to appear to be arguing with you Norm because, for one reason, I think you're brilliant. However, I disagree with your statement that I quoted. IMHO, I think buying a part in an OEM box guarantees that it was made to the manufacturer's specs with regard to materials, dimensions and...

Increasing Brake power - new front master brake cylinder??

While you're at it, clean and lube (with ceramic brake grease) the contact area where the caliper slides on the mounting bracket. The front brakes on the most recent G I bought felt like 2 blocks of wood gripping an oily disc. They were terrible! I cleaned and lubed the above areas and couldn't...

    bleeding issues

Having just read all the info presented in this thread I'd like to comment on how thankful and, in a sense, proud I am to be a member of a group (ie. the GSR) who's member's collective knowledge never ceases to amaze me. That those members take the time to share their knowledge with others is...

    stuck screws

If you've got the time, I'd put a few drops of penetrant on the interface between the head and the mating surface. Personally, I go so far as to put a few drops on that area from time to time to make sure it doesn't go dry before giving it a good whack as described above. A few choice words...

LED Flasher Unit & Auto Cancelling

Please excuse my ignorance but....what does avec mean or stand for? I'd also like to know what the other means is if not to install a shunt load. Thanks, Willie

    Shifter Shaft Seal

Do a search on here and you'll find everything you need to know. There are several ways to do it. When I change mine, I'm going to pull the old seal using a a couple of sheet metal screws or a thin bladed screwdriver to pop it out. Lube the shaft and press the new one in. Willie
