A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

1980/81 GS1000G US Spec UK import

I'm happy to see your exhaust patch - I think it looks pretty good! I have a few holes in the exhaust for my GS750 that I have been wanting to address in a similar manner.

First road trip on the GS750

I bought my GS750 in the fall, fixed it up over the winter, did a 250 mile test run in the spring, and left two weeks later on a 10,000 trip. I think you're ready! That's a good looking GS, too. I love the darker blue

1983 GS450L Start Button Not Engaging Starter.

Does the solenoid click when you press the starter?

    Randomly wont start

Make sure your vacuum line is also connected to the left of the left side carb. If it's come off it will make starting difficult and could damage the engine if ran. Best way for us to help is post some pictures

    Hard tail bobber

I think choppers and hardtail bikes are cool (sometimes) but a GS shafty is just the wrong bike to hardtail. If you're going to get into a project like that ... get a chain drive.

    New GS750

I'm doing some spring maintenence on my GS750 and, just like some of you called it about a year ago, I need to replace the aftermarket seals I installed last spring. Does anybody know which part number is for the actual seal...

Chasing my electrical problems on my GS450

Easy to test if the solenoid is stuck on - disconnect the starter and the wire going to the button. Short the "button terminal" to the battery and see if it clicks. You could remove a turn signal or something, ground it and connect the other lead to the solenoid starter motor output. See if it...

New to Suziki- GS450L Cafe racer project

Hey Jen - Cool project! I'm partial to the GS450's so it's nice to see another one. There's a link to my always ongoing GS450 project in my signature. I'm curious what seat you'll be using. I was in KC over the summer and have a bunch of friends over there. Does Blind Tiger mean anything to you?

Riders who have your bikes setup for touring...........

Second on the Daytona bars. I did 10,000 miles over 6 weeks with this set up. Only thing I would have changed was a gel insert in the seat.

    78 gs 450 wiring harness

If you're going to hack it up anyway, you can probably make it work ;). Again I don't know of GS450's that were made pre-1980 so they are electric ignition only going to the igniter box. Depending on the year GS1000, it could have points so that would be a big difference in how it's wired. The...

    78 gs 450 wiring harness

The GS450 is physically smaller, the harness wouldn't be long enough.

    78 gs 450 wiring harness

But any GS450 wiring harness would not be a direct replacement

    I don't believe there is a '78 GS450.

    GS450 Rebuild

Okay it's been a little slow on this due to the freezing weather, other projects, and a new job. Over the weekend, I cleaned up some of the welds I had done and added a little bracing. I was at a bit of a standstill for a couple weeks not being able to get the rear fender to sit where I wanted...

    1982 GS450L Resurrection Project

Cool project and nice work! I have used master cylinders from 4into1.com and have nothing but good things to say about them. Cost is ~$40 and the look the part. Just make sure you get the ride sized piston. Nothing fancy but a little more reliable than ebay.

    Speaking of center stands

My GS450 is super easy to get up on the center stand and I would always do it while ON the bike. When I got my GS750 I couldn't figure out how to get it until I did it OFF the bike. I put it down with my right foot while wiggling it to make sure it's level, then put weight on the stand, lift...
