A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

    New GS750

The bike has always leaned A LOT. IIRC it did lean a bit more after putting the Hagons on but I don't remember a difference with the tires. On a flat surface, it's okay, but if there's any uneven surface I have to be careful parking it. From what I've seen they're all like this?

    New GS750

Been almost two years since I've updated this but figured it's the place. Don't really have too much time for the GSR these days :) Anyway, just installed this Delkevic exhaust last week and the Pirelli Sport Demons last year. Between ditching the crash bars and stock exhaust, it at least...

    1980 GS450 piston/cylinder question (for Saffas)

I've done the swap and found a set of GS500 pistons with the original rings in them on ebay. Runs great but if I were doing it again I'd get the OEM rings since you're forking out for all of the other gaskets anyway.

Clutch plates - OEM or upgrade recommendations?

Update: Took the clutch apart again to triple check number of plates like somebody suggested. All good there although I did end up breaking one of the clutch basket retaining bolts. A little rusty from working on things last year and I forgot that they have a low torque spec, doh! Had a spare...

Clutch plates - OEM or upgrade recommendations?

The clutch on my '77 GS750 started slipping last summer. I replaced all 6 springs with OEM suzuki parts and it was still slipping. The friction plates were either right at spec or slightly under so I replaced them with a combination of used plates I pulled out of a couple of unused GS550 engines...

    1978 GS550 - My first restoration

Hey Josh, my house went a little nuts with the GS550's this summer, they're fun little bikes. There are currently four in the driveway and at one point we had seven... For the airbox, I found it to be hugely helpful to unclip the rear fender and push it towards the rear wheel. It gives you a...

    Repeat Condenser Failure

What coils did you install? I would start by inspecting the wiring + connections between the points and the coils.

    Twin '77 GS550 Projects

I ended up replacing the MC with one from a parts bike after trying to clean/blow out the original. Front brake is good to go now although I plan to replace the line at some point with an SS from earls. Now for the next problem. I've been ignoring what I've suspected was a fuel delivery...

    Resistance is futile (or infuriating!!)

Where are others getting B8ES plugs from? None of the auto parts stores around me (Advanced + Autozone) stock them anymore. Amazon lists B8ES spark plugs but recent reviews state that they're receiving resistor plugs.

what did you wrench on today??

Installed Pirelli Sport Demon tires on my GS750 yesterday. Compared to the K70's I've been running for three years, this things are awesome! Much more responsive; they feel great. I think they look really cool, too.

    Change 17" rim with L model 16 " rim

I did it on my GS450L with the 18" wheel from a GS450S. They both have drum brakes and it dropped right in

    Twin '77 GS550 Projects

I got my bike to a really solid place over the past week after installing 340mm Hagons, new IRC GS-11 tires and an extra flat seat I had lying around. I'm going to re-upholster the seat over the winter so ignore the rips. One thing is that I'm having an issue with the front break. It had been...

81' GS550 Cafe Racer Kickstart Retrofit

Definitely curious to see how it goes if you end up going through with the swap. When I first got my first GS - my GS450 - my one complaint was that the GS450 never had a kickstart (GS425 and GS400 did, though). I pretty much always kick over my other bikes just for fun. It's probably easier to...

    1977 550

Chiming in with others, the NGK B8ES is the correct plug. I live in Boston and depending on when I need them, sometimes end up having to go to 3-4 part stores to get a set of four. I'll typically just buy all the ones they have for spares. You should also be able to get them on z1. As for the...

    1977 550

Not to beat a dead horse but hopefully by "rebuild kit" you just mean the O-ring kit for your bike from cycleorings.com. I just picked up 1977 GS550 that hadn't run since 1981. Did the following and now it's golden: - Valve adjustment - Complete carb clean - full disassembly, 24 hour dip for...

Looking for air box boots for my GS750T, are boots from GS750 E and L compatible?

I replaced my cruininmage intake boots on my GS750 after one year. The rubber started tearing at the flange on multiple of the boots resulting in huge intake leaks.

Can I put a GS550 or other displacement point cover on my GS450?

They're quite different shapes. The GS450 cover is round where the GS550 one has a non-round part on the bottom

Hagon Road Shock Fitting for '77 GS550

I went with these 340mm shocks: https://www.z1enterprises.com/hagon-rs-shocks-slim-340mm-kz550-kz650-kz750.html They're 10mm over stock height. If they sit strange with the GS550 I'll put them on my 450 which already has an oversized (and overly stiff) pair of Hagon's from a triumph thruxton...

Finding a Weaker Carb Return Spring

Hmm interesting - Wouldn't that make it harder to open the throttle, needing to overcome both the spring and friction force? It would make for easier cruising.

Finding a Weaker Carb Return Spring

I've decided that the return spring for my carb rack is too strong. After a few hours of riding, my wrist gets really sore. In a certain sense, it affects "performance" since it's harder to flick the throttle open. I've ridden cross country on this bike and so it's not a matter of just "riding...
