Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    1982 Suzuki GS750T - Will it fit?

I currently have a Delkevic 4 into 1 exhaust on Suzy. Looks great. Sounds bloody awful. It's so embarrassingly loud. I saw a possible replacement on FB Marketplace and I 'think' it might fit my 1982 GS750T. But I'd appreciate your second opinion before purchasing. Here's the link: Suzuki...

1982 GS750T: Warped Front Disc - Replacement Question...

UGH! New development. Whilst waiting for advice from the wonderful chaps on this forum, I thought: "I know what, I'll fit Suzy's new OEM brake pads." Should have known. Take a look at the photo below: The pads I got are the genuine part number for a 1982 GS750T. But I couldn't get them...

1982 GS750T: Warped Front Disc - Replacement Question...

Help! The part I ordered from the breakers was guaranteed to fit the bike and not be warped. I went to swap it today for the original. Here's the picture... ...See if you can spot my problem? That's right. The one taken off the bike (top) is about 270mm in diameter. The replacement...

1982 GS750T: Warped Front Disc - Replacement Question...

You guys really are the greatest. Thank you. Plenty to work with here and you've helped me to move forwards. This is my current plan of attack: 1. I saw this at a breakers in the UK. I've contacted them to see if they can guarantee it isn't worn. At ?32+postage - It could be a bargain 2...

1982 GS750T: Warped Front Disc - Replacement Question...

Took Suzy for an MOT today (she's exempt, but I want to make sure she's safe after me wrenching on her for two years). She failed on two points: 1. Headlamp not working on dipped beam (I'll see if a new bulb fixes that). 2. Brake grabbing severely front. Fault two didn't come as a surprise...

    1982 GS750T Front Fork Mystery...

Finally... ...Fitted. Perfect. What a difference having the right parts makes LOL.

    1982 GS750T Front Fork Mystery...

Finally... ...This arrived. And it's a perfect fit. Lord only knows how Suzy ended up with the wrong fork bottom. But who cares? Because now she has the right one. It's 'new old stock', which means it's in excellent condition and looks very nice and shiny. Shame the other fork looks 43...

    1982 GS750T Front Fork Mystery...

Great spot. Bought it. Shame the postage is almost as much as the part LOL. Still, I'm much happier doing it this way. Thanks David

    1982 GS750T Front Fork Mystery...

I didn't want to do it, but I don't feel I have much option. I'm going to put the fork together the way it came apart - without the 'anti friction' metal bushing on the end of the stanchion. New fork oil, new o-rings and new oil seals and see what Suzy handles like. If it's bad, I guess I'll...

    1982 GS750T Front Fork Mystery...

Dang... ...That is really generous of you. But having measured the diameter of my stanchions, they're 35mm. So I guess that's not going to work. But thank you again for your very generous offer. After a few days of trawling the Internet, I think I'm going to have to take the 'anti-friction...

    1982 GS750T Front Fork Mystery...

Thanks Rich, I don't recall it leaking, but I do recall the front suspension being pretty terrible. Perhaps with new oil, seals, and O-rings that'll improve? Hmm. Does anyone know if the 750T used the same front suspension as a European model? Looking at the Suzuki GS750E/T supplementary...

    1982 GS750T Front Fork Mystery...

Fixing the front brake on Suzy (my 1982 GS750T) revealed just how awful her front suspension was. Taking it apart, I noticed the right stanchion/inner tube didn't have the 'anti-friction metal' bush on it. Putting everything back together today, I discovered why. The inner tube will not fit...

Adjusting Idle Mixture on CV carbs...

It's really good as it enabled me to interpret the results I was getting in a way that made sense. One thing I didn't realise at first was you can adjust the air/fuel screws in one go. I did one and a half turns - fail. Turned it off, waited an hour. Then one and three quarter turns - fail...

Adjusting Idle Mixture on CV carbs...
