A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

How do Mikuni BS34SS Carbs vent float bowl?

The vents should terminate into still air. That's usually under the seat above and behind the airbox. A friend thought it was a good idea to terminate them inside the airbox so a vacuum would help pull fuel into the bowls. I never did that.

Filthy Rusty Tank - wow - with cleaning/rust removal process

I used a mix of strengths of vinegar and followed with evaporust. All of the usual rinsing, drying and oiling. I made a gasketed block off plate for the petcock but left the sender in place.

    First Bike - GS650G - Rusty Crusty

I've seen two bikes that corroded, both of them were stored near chloride. One in a shed at a concrete plant and one leaned against a leaky tractor tire. That's more work than I would be willing to invest. Find another one and use this one for parts?

Any Audiophile Steamers Out There ?

You are in a totally different league, I listen to a Bose portable speaker and satellite radio by wifi. I did recently buy a Pyle tuner/amp and an audio-technica turntable hooked to my old Yamaha speakers. L0L. We can play our old records again.

'83 1100E very hard starting, starter motor switching directions

Did you clean out the carburetor brass and blow carb cleaner through the idle screw holes and all of the air bleeds and bowl vents? I usually fix ignition issues by cleaning the carbs and vice-versa.

Stock paint has crooked emblem, clear coating over it, what to do?

You could smooth it with filler and apply a vinyl rectangle from a sign shop over the bad spot and then put the decal on that. Like the sticker has a background.

It Was Only 3 Rounds But It Was One Hell Of A 3 Rounds

I remember that fight, both of them were tough fighters. My brother in law had a satellite dish and invited me over, he had paid for a pay per view Tyson fight, it was over in seconds. He was so mad.

    Odometer repair?

It was warm and I was going to swap the gauge pod but rode the bike first, for the first two blocks the trip odometer didn't read miles but I pushed the re-set button while moving and it worked for the rest of the 1-mile ride. I think I'll just keep using it, the seat split so I ordered a new...

    Odometer repair?

I took apart a replacement gauge pod that I bought that also didn't reset I sprayed a little silicone lube on the re-set mechanism and when I rolled the gear by hand something went snap and now it works. Apparently something was hung-up. I used a reversable drill and added a few tenths of a mile...
