A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    1983 Katana 1100 GSXR conversion

Just suggestions; 1. Don't cut the passenger peg hangers off. They are part of why a Katana looks the way it does. Find a way to get every thing to fit. 2. Stay away from a high muffler on the exhaust. Just doesn't look right with the rest of the lines of the bike. These are just my opinions...

    Identify these Kawasaki twins

My first NEW bike I ever bought was a CSR 305. Single disc up front, and belt final drive.

GSXR front end on Kat 1100

Aren't the GSX-R anti-dive units electricly activated? I had an '87 & the anti-dive actually worked on that bike. At least so that I noticed a difference.

    Barnett Clutch?

Yes it will fit. Make sure it's not the "extra plate" kit or it will destroy the clutch hub.

    Oil Usage

Yes, 750 oil pump gears. I fill halfway between the high & low mark with the bike on a rear stand. I'm having to add approx. 1/4 quart every other week. I ride at least 250 miles a week just commuting. My '82 Katana had literally zero oil consumption, with roughly 48,000 on the clock. And I...

    Top End Oiler Project

You probably need new crush washers. CRUSH being the operative word here. The aluminum washers deform slightly to create the seal. And they don't really like to be reused. PM me your address again & I'll send some new ones to you. Torque to 80-100 INCH/lbs MAX Again 80-100 INCH/lbs MAX...

    1983_GS750E - Rebuild

Prices not much better around here. I think for Sport Demons, front & rear, it was about $350. Mount, balance, disposal fee & tax. That's me pulling the wheels & taking them to the shop. Now I might have saved a little money shopping around, but I've been buying tires from the same guys for...

    1983_GS750E - Rebuild

I have that tread pattern committed to memory. Phantoms were, in my opinion, the BEST tires you could get. That front tire must be a Phantom Touring. The regular Phantoms for the front had the same tread as your rear. Those things stuck like crazy.

Pirelli Sport Demons. Or Metzler Lasetech. Although I don't know how a Lasertech on the rear would be. But the fronts are nice.

Good Lord! How long has that bike been sitting around? It's got a Pirelli Phantom on the rear! Haven't been able to get one of those for years! Loved those tires.

    Aftermarket swingarm ID?

You're probably right. I'll have to get some measurements from my 1150 arms. Got three to get an average from. Right now it looks really close. I'm hoping it might just work. Maybe with a little modification......

    Aftermarket swingarm ID?

Is that 9" with the dust caps on? What is the length from pivot to axle? Distance from pivot to lower shock mount? Pivot to upper mount on the top of the arm? Widths of upper & lower mounts? Distance from upper to lower? Inside width at axle? Sorry for so many questions. Greg B.

    Aftermarket swingarm ID?

Cool. Let me know what you decide. Luckily, I already have a set of PM Chicane 17" that are going on my '82 Katana.

    Aftermarket swingarm ID?

Did you learn anything about the arm? If it is an 1150 arm, do you have a use for it? I'd be interested if it is & you would consider selling. Thanks, Greg B.

    Calfab is another possibility.

    Aftermarket swingarm ID?

Check with the guys on OSS (oldskoolsuzuki.info) They are way more into that sort of thing than most folks here.

    Aftermarket swingarm ID?

Actually, I think you may be right about that.

    Aftermarket swingarm ID?

Could possibly be an older JMC arm also. I know both Metmachex & JMC are still in business. Maybe you could send them a photo & see if they can ID it.

    Aftermarket swingarm ID?

Yeah, Kawasaki used that type of adjuster on many bikes in the GPz/Ninja line. Shock mount looks totally wrong for a GPz though.
