DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

5th day @ Ridge. 6 sessions complete. Had a fresh rear tire on upon arrival. Saw a cool vintage CB750F out on track that had serious grunt! Turns out he had 1100F engine bored to 1123cc (2mm over) & Kaz Yoshima pistons. A 5'' widened Comcast rear wheel, with first gen GSXR front end & 1st gen...

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Survived 115 minutes of track time @ the Ridge Motorsports Park yesterday. I was a bit hot, 90 when I left. 20240715_194618 by Carter Turk, on Flickr

    Is it worth it?

Stator (inside left engine cover), SH 775 regulator (finned, behind carbs, behind side cover), starter motor brushes (under carbs), splines. Maybe someone else will say something about this, (splines) as I'm chain driven guy. Parts if needed, probably less than $350.

what did you wrench on today??

I raised the rear ride height by 4mm on my 04 gixxer track bike to see if it'll quell the bizarre tire wear on the dunlop q5s. On 3/17/24, I had my first track day get-off, after 12 years of riding the Ridge Motorsports Park. 7 years on the Kat & the rest on the gixxer. The back end just went...

    Pull style choke

I just use a tapered pen cap to hold my stock carb open. Never had the side panel choke functional on the Kat. My other GSXR 1100 carbs have the feature ur looking for (a knob on the left side w/detents in the rod.)

Any suggestions for freeing stuck pistons in cylinder

I wonder if getting some schedule 40 electrical pvc pipe slightly smaller than the bore diameter & some steel angle iron or box tubing wide enough to strap heavy duty ratchet straps on each side of 1-4 cylinders & another angle iron/box piece below frame with wood shims between frame rails & oil...

what did you wrench on today??

Finally changed the front tapered roller bearings & rotors/pads on my daily driver 91 VW vanagon (272,000 miles). I've had the parts sitting on shelf for a year & half, not finding the motivation till now. It was actually fairly easy to do, just messy. The rotors were worn 3mm, with a pronounced...

Only 7 points between Martin & Bagnaia now with 2 races & a sprint to go.

Spoiler Alert: MotoGP (or any other race) thread for immediate disscussion of races.

I like Pecco, but Martin has ridden very well, even with a soft tire choice that bit him the previous race. He answered back with a double at the next outing. Think Pecco is more in the hot seat than Martin, so the pressure lands more on Pecco's program. In WBSK, it'll be interesting to see how...

    Friday afternoon safety meeting.

Ha! Regardless it got us into the Canadian Provinces & we got to drink Molson & Labatts, before Micro brews showed up. Don't really drink beer anymore, but the higher octane at the time was special. What was the hate all about?

    Friday afternoon safety meeting.

I noticed the track decals on the VW Scirocco, but the Ridge decal is backwards & I see Laguna Seca next to it, but don't recognize the other tracks. Back in 1986 my roommate & I drove a VW Dasher to Sunshine Village Alberta full of Sims Hi-bak snowboard bindings for the North American...
