I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

    Clutch does not dis-engage 83 750E

preliminary results indicates cold oil=sticky so far only ran on the center stand and when cold could not turn wheel. when warmed up, could turn wheel. BTW, the discs etc checked in specs (actually on the newer side so that may make for tighter tolerance.)

    Clutch does not dis-engage 83 750E

I would agree with you on actuation difficulty and cable fray and will check that out. What the actuation difficulty does not address is the clutch drag, which once the clutch is actuated - should allow the rear wheel to rotate (almost) freely and it did rotate freely prior to chain change.

    Clutch does not dis-engage 83 750E

tried that - all gears engaged. (left the spark plugs in) noticed in 5th gear I could turn the engine with the R wheel and if I squeezed the clutch I could rotate the wheel just a little bit easier. Then tried turning the R wheel in all gears and if applying much force to turn the wheel in any...

    Clutch does not dis-engage 83 750E

Need more ideas - Still not dis-engaging. Drained all the oil = same, so its not oil level. (PS - also discovered the PO installed a MIP tapered drain plug and an OEM drainplug does not fit. Guess he stripped the drain plug previously) Cranked the engine with the gears in neutral = wheel does...

    Clutch does not dis-engage 83 750E

Did that. Also tried over adjusting it to force it in more and still no release. I'll try draining some of the oil and see what happens.

    Clutch does not dis-engage 83 750E

Actually it has the sight glass is all full (thanks PO). Will drain a bit and see what happens. Interestingly though it worked with the same oil level previously (when I bought it) Btw, the engine is cold during this trial/adjustment process.

    Clutch does not dis-engage 83 750E

Clutch does not dis-engage 83 750E Worked before I replaced the chain. Replaced the chain and took the sprocket cover off to make sure the chain seated well on the front sprocket. Adjusted the clutch per manual. Seems to be moving and pressing the rod in. I also tried over-adjusting the...

converting to tubeless - valve stem hole question

Yes - the motorcycle valves shown here should work. ( I hesitate to say 'any' since I am not aware of all) BTW, my valve install and mounting went well. for the concave F wheel I pictured above, the countersinking worked well. Also on that same bike the rear had a flat center section so I...

converting to tubeless - valve stem hole question

i think it makes a difference if one has the valves with the raise rubber part and/or if you are installing on a flat or originally-curved wheel. if one is installing on a flat section and a flat valve washer, it seems a straight install without any drilling would work just fine. The later...

converting to tubeless - valve stem hole question

the radius of my beveled section would not provide a sealing surface. the samples shown above by others have flat areas. I ended up countersinking a 5/8" and the edges needed to come down over 1/8" to get to the level of the middle. My drill bit doesn't have the flat area like the cool...

converting to tubeless - valve stem hole question

So I love the countersink tool I got the valves Mark shows. here are pics of the different holes I'm working with - https://goo.gl/photos/RXjHWFJHDXoZG77FA the 83's have the larger main hole and the the countersink as well. into that the pictured valves fit well. On the 81 (the smaller...

converting to tubeless - valve stem hole question

Going tubeless on the '81. It has smaller tube valve stem holes than the '83 GS's I have. Do I just drill the '81 out to the same diameter as the '83? Also the '83 seems to be countersunk from the inside. All these are aluminum wheels. the '81 says on the rim that it is suitable for...

    83 GS750's E and ES into one

So have a canadian 83 750 ES (non-runner) and a US 83 750 E (somewhat-runner) eventually they will be one good one and a parts or not so good one to sell. So how to decide what to keep from which one? Firstly the engine. The runner I can compression check but how do I assess the non-runner...

how to install chain if chain off bike - 81 and 83 750

Using simple green but the purple one fairly diluted - same as for the carbs I see your point, may reconsider on the O ring one.

how to install chain if chain off bike - 81 and 83 750

turns out taking the side cover off is no big deal even on the 83s where the clutch cable goes in. Took the master links off and chains are in ultrasound cleaner thanks for the replies

    chain - How do I tell what kind I have - 630/530 Oring/Standard

    chain - How do I tell what kind I have - 630/530 Oring/Standard how do I tell the difference in the 530/630 I am combining the 1983s and maintaining the 81 year / model / teeth on rear sprocket 1983 750E T50 1983 750ES T43 - says 530/43 so I'm guessing it has a 530 chain 1981 750L T40 The...
