A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

    4month nap wake up-Spark only on 2&3!

Assuming that 4 ohms is the primary resistance of the 2/3 coil. How does that compare to the primary resistance of the 1/4 coil. (In your 1st post you indicated that you installed Accel 3.0 ohm supercoils.) What is the resistance on the secondary side of those coils to the plug caps? And what...

    SH775 install frustrations

Well, I am *finally* getting pack to my 1980 GS750E project that I started years ago. I think I have figured out how to fit all the pieces I want to upgrade into the left side panel where the originals were located. My plan was/is to convert to the SH775, switch from glass fuses to blade fuses...

Need to locate parts for 82 GS1100E

My 1980 750E 16-valver has glass fuses and it drops a fair amount of voltage through the fuse box. If the OP has a choice, I’d go with the blade fuses.

When did Suzuki switch from glass to blade fuses?

    Quick Carb Jet Questions

Except that he is already five sizes over stock. If he leans out the middle and it gets worse he knows to go bigger on the mains. If it gets better and it gets better, he knows he is already to big.

    Quick Carb Jet Questions

I thought the original poster was trying to lean out the midrange fuel. Maybe I missed something?

    coil spark test

Ah-ha. Thank You killer. Yes, the spark will jump from the center electrode to the side electrode on one plug and on the companion plug it will jump from the side electrode to the center electrode.

    coil spark test

After re-reading your post, you raise a good point, for which I am not sure. Does the high voltage spark have to have a return path back to the coil in order to generate a spark?
  9. P

    coil spark test

No. It’s not that complicated. Just run a jumper wire from a 12V battery positive post to the coil’s positive connector. And run a jumper wire from the battery’s negative post to the coil’s negative connector. Don’t leave it connected long as that will continuously charge up the coil’s...

1983 GS750ES Bikes goes dead when Flasher is removed

Perhaps that metal can is some kind of a slow blow fuse, or a fuse that auto resets when cooled? P.S. Pictures do add a whole lot to the discussion!

1983 GS750ES Bikes goes dead when Flasher is removed

Got it. Thank you for taking the time to get me straightened out. Just thinking out load here, but if that ground at the rear of the bike (wiring diagram) has gone bad or weak (not bear metal, or corroded threads as you have described), perhaps the Turn Signal Relay’s third wire has been...

1983 GS750ES Bikes goes dead when Flasher is removed

I am just trying to follow along here, but I know this is waaay over my pay grade, but just where on the schematic you posted is this “flasher unit from the fuse panel” you speak of? I can’t find a “flasher unit” in the fuse panel or any place on your schematic.

I’m trying to visualize what you wrote: Is the screwdriver touching anything else besides the small red wire on the starter solenoid?

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Wow! You fellows were just a few miles from Colton Point and the Pine Creek Gorge, just South of Ansonia, PA. You saw some Beautiful, and BIG country. Thanks for sharing. Nice camera work, too.

Finish line in sight, but won't turn over!

Just to describe the coil wiring another way: The two O/W wires will have voltage when ever the ignition switch is “on”. When the ignitor wants to energize the 1-4 coil it will provide a ground to the W wire. This will cause current to begin flowing through the 1-4 coil primary circuit. When...

    Bad gas story

OP did edit post #10. I *think* he changed it to indicate 8 valves, but I’d like clarification. Is a GS400 a twin?

    84 gr650 can't find parasitic draw

Just to narrow the search area down, pulling which 10 amp fuse makes the draw go away? Duh, never mind. Maybe try unplugging the R/R to see if that eliminates the draw. And then try unplugging the ignition switch connector to see if the draw goes away.

    I am stymied....vacuum leak.

Glad to hear it’s running well again. Did you end up applying a sealer to the plugs? Or use the Kawasaki donuts on the plugs?
