A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Revision of homemade electric diagram

My mistake that red wire goes to the ignition switch, not the headlight circuit. From there it feeds a number of circuits.. Here is what I would do/recommend: That way those other circuits will be protected by a fuse.

    Revision of homemade electric diagram

Okay, one more time: Let's say the R/R is charging the battery.. What keeps the R/R supplied current from by passing that fuse and going straight to the headlight circuit? Sorry for my crude pointer I'm still a clutz at this computer stuffs..

    Revision of homemade electric diagram

Wow! You’re way ahead of me. I only got as far as the output of the R/R. I see how the head light circuit is protected by the fuse (can’t make out the fuse name or number of that fuse) when the battery is supplying the current. And I see how that same fuse is protecting the battery circuit...

    Revision of homemade electric diagram

Nice drawing! What software did that? I have a question about the diagram. (Note that I will always be trying to learn more about electrical stuffs. So if my question is too silly, just ignore it.) It looks to me like if the stator/RR is putting out more voltage than battery is supplying, I...

    Retarding Ignition Timing

The higher octane fuel doesn’t necessarily burn any faster, but it has higher resistance to preignition. The rate of burn is effected by the compression ratio, or more correctly by the effective compression ratio, as it packs the molecules closer together. The optimum number of crank degrees...

Valve Stem Seals, or maybe throw in the towel

What Glen said ^^^ If I found the correct wiring diagram on bwinger’s site (and it is in color!), there is a white wire from each brake light switch that are spliced together in the harness. From that splice a single white wire runs through a 3(?) wire connector and on to the brake side of the...

RPMs increase and decrease with blinker?

That’s where I was trying to go, especially when I noticed that the R/R and the ignitor shared the same ground.

Kentman, Good to hear you figured it out.

RPMs increase and decrease with blinker?

How about if you press the horn button Do the engine RPMs go up? (The black and white wiring diagram makes my eyes hurt, but I think we are chasing two separate issues.) Why is there what I would call a "jumper wire" between the headlight ground wire and the front turn signal lights ground...

RPMs increase and decrease with blinker?

I am grabbing at straws, but thinking if the brake light sends more current through the shared ground, that may improve the current through the coils. That’s why I am curious to see what the coil voltage is before and after the brake light comes on.
