Register to access the full functionality of the GSResources forum. Until you register and activate your account you will not have full forum access, nor will you be able to post or reply to messages.

    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Craigslist derelict, 1K & as usual 'no title' - 78 GS1000E

At least the seat and other rubbers might not be sun-rotted if they've been unsembled in a shed out of the heat.

    FortNine Lane filtering

It's second nature to most of us in the UK and Ireland (and some other parts of Yoorp). It would be pointless having a bike if we had to sit in traffic all the time, just like the suckers in cars.

GS850G Won't Start, Electrical Issue, No Spark

Absence of a dial gauge, just bring it up to TDC either by eyeball, screwdriver, modified spark plug, etc, and rock it back and forth by the same number of degrees either side. In the middle of that is TDC, good enough for government work.

    GS450 to 500 swap questions

" also the vac ports for syncing the carbs are not capped off, so i'm sure that is messing with something." Definitely. Cap them off asap. That's a serious air leak and if you leave it long enough will cause damage.

    Little-known US history..Operaton .Greenlight

"Dirty bombs" are just conventional explosives designed to scatter nuclear material around a site. They are not nuclear bombs. The ones in the article were proper atomic bombs, albeit small.

Bozo zuki. Aptly named, I think.

    Fairing?

Yep, it would be fine if Lizzywhite (or the owner of Viking Bags) at least paid a sub and as a commercial entity they could be quite open about supporting the site with a bit extra, too. I'm also wondering if Lizzywhite is an AI, because the advice she/he/it has been handing out is nothing more...

    GS550L mirror blur over 70mph

My XJ900 suffers bad from that. Yamaha's solution was to glue a lead weight into the head shell of each mirror. Some experimentation will get you to the same place.

    Trigger Warning: Purists Beware!

The chopped back rail is a loss to carrying anything, but at least he didn't hard tail it. That seat looks comfy enough though. Perhaps a local upholsterer could simply re-cover it, or just diy it.

    Long trips anyone?

Back to the plugging of Viking Bags, eh? How much are you getting paid to constantly shill their goods, or are you involved in some way?

    "Fifteen minutes of fame"

If they'd put in enough ballast to counter the over-indulgent upper decks, the damn thing would have just sunk on launching anyway.

I saw mention of a V8 in the article, to pair up with the motors. Mmm.... hydrocarbons.
