DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    JohnnyL's 1980 GS550L Cafe Build

Going all the way down to #100 jets seems WAY too low. I am thinking the stock jet is around #112 (look it up because I don't know for sure). With pods, and a free flowing pipe, you'll need to go at least one size up from stock, possibly 2 sizes. Also will need to raise your needles at least...

    come on mac (or seller)

Dude... Everything you posted in post#17 looks correct. The stock bolts are about 1/4" too short to be secure enough. Go get some decent stainless bolts, and washers. Bring an old one with you, and just ask for the same bolt, but stainless, and 1/4" longer. The rear mount holds the weight...

I don't really have a shot that fits this theme JUST right for this, but. I remember that day, and we did have a lot of fun, was a great day. That said, I agree with Storm on the definition of a "joy ride". The 2 that stand out in that sense to me are Eli, and Trevor. Nothing says "joy ride"...

I'm just giving you some shyte my friend. Don't rush anything. That looming is pretty cheap, not bad at all. I will have to order a few different sizes, and colors for future projects, and upgrades.

Very nice. I like the Black / Red looming. I'm going to look into some of that. I assume there are different colors? One small thing you haven't mentioned yet. Looks like you have the wiring all connected. DOES IT RUN ? ! ? LOL

Trailer down to Brown County. Lot of good twisty roads down there. There is a rally down there every year in June. You should consider coming. No GS required, lol.

My son and I out for a "joy ride" last summer.

    78 GS1000 left for dead

The group I ride with, are mostly from the Mishawaka area, with a few from Elkhart and Southbend. We venture into Elkhart now and then. Maybe we can get a ride dialed in over the summer.

I've got to go with Jedz this week. Good clean focus, and a lot of detail there. Was a tough call though. Many great shots, of fine detail. Honorable mention for Kerrfunk, as I have almost that exact same shot from last spring.

    78 GS1000 left for dead

I'm down by Knox. I ride with a group a few times a year, and we head up to Michigan for food, and change of scenery. Most roads around us are quite boring as far as cornering. There are some better spots up there, just have to pick ones that have been maintained. Potholes can be brutal up...

Oh yeah, I forgot about this one... You did a really nice job on that bike. You seem to have a love of speed. You and I should get together sometime this summer and ride.

I was focusing more on the JB Welded mirror mount, LOL. That "cramp buster" looks like it might do more damage than a cramp after a few miles too. Nice shot though

Well, that is indeed a strange one. Are you using OEM Suzuki gaskets? All the gurus here state that all others will leak. I haven't any experience with it, as I have only used OE gaskets. I would assume the Suzuki gaskets would not be off like that? What gasket did you use the first time...

Just thought of a full on positive through this "mistake". Your original cases were flawed to begin with. Now you don't have to worry about that low temp aluminum weld failing.

    82 GS1100G Project

Once it was a whole machine again, the starter was toast. No brushes left in it. I think there was at least 5 of us that had a hand in that thing that night. Was fun really. Was really great to see his face light up when we got it push started, and he rode out of the parking lot. Who's...

Getting started. 79 GS550 Street Tracker Rebuild

It looks to me that the damage is at the very top of the cylinder. Can hurt to try and hone it out. Once to get all that sludge cleaned off of everything, you should be able to see what you really have. I can't see the whole cylinder though to tell definitely that it's good or not. You would...
