A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    JohnnyL's 1980 GS550L Cafe Build

Dude... You're not done yet?!? Dam slacker... Looks really good man. I agree about the upper triple. It looks good, but I suspect that new design will look a LOT better. Bike is looking great! Can't wait to see it in person come June. Have you decided on colors / scheme yet?

Yeah, can't say I'm a fan of the bar ends. I will add, if you were to machine them down to the same diameter. That would make it aesthetically pleasing on the eyes. Of course, they wouldn't be red anymore. I would like to see the shotgun shell experimentation. I do really like how the black...

I like the solution you came up with. Those caps look good. Can't tell staring right at them. Adding something else may draw unwanted attention to it. Hmmm, Just had a thought. I wonder if a 16ga, or 20ga shotgun shell would fit that hole? a little gorilla snot (weather stripping adhesive)...

It really does LOOK a lot more complicated than it really is. Starting fresh, and making your own loom is a bit time consuming, but in the end it will look, and function so much better than stock. Plus you will lose about 5 pounds of wire. I would love to do this to mine when I pull it back...

There is a Big Injun right up the road from me. Old picture, but he's still there. He was moved here from The Enchanted Forest amusement park in Portage, Indiana when it closed in 1991.

I don't use Photosuckit anymore. But, when I went to download all of the pics I have there, only half would download. That was over a year ago, and I just haven't had the time, and the thought at the same time to figure out why the rest are being held hostage. I MIGHT have them all on an old...

    1984 GS1150ef rebuild!!! renew!!

Couple things. '93-'95 GSXR's carbs ARE RS-36's If you aren't doing any engine work (i.e. cams, valves) you may be going too big with the 36's. I have a '95 GSXR750W, I can go out and measure my forks for you, for a "real world" "now I know" measurement. I am very absent minded, but I will...

    what is wrong with mac

That question has been answered for you a few times, in a few of your threads started asking the same question. I will answer it, yet again... You will want to go up one size on your main jet. Raise the needle one notch, or shim it about 1-2 mm. Make sure your airbox is complete, and...

    1980 GS850 - Purchase or Not?

I would say it was in a wreck, and they used a '79 for a parts bike to make the '80 whole again. That crash bar was definitely crashed. that weld looks way to boogery to be factory to me. I would not consider that bike, unless I already HAD an 850 that needed a crapload of parts...

    Got it started, but...

If you are confident the float valves are ok, then you likely have the float height set very wrong. Run through the rebuild tutorial. It will save you a LOT of headaches...

OH, how I loathe PhotoSuckit... I have a couple old pictures for this STUCK in Photobucket. I can see them! When I try to do anything about it (download, save, remove, ANYTHING) POP-UP. If I use my computer here at work, my antivirus flags it as a malicious website. I want my pictures BACK...

    the 5 foot special

Another option. Clear coat was REALLY bad on my T when I bought it. Had an old crappy leather jacket hanging around. Cut it to shape, coated the back with 3M spray glue... Did the job until I got a chance to paint the whole bike.

    heat wrapping headers

When You get your new header. Give it a light sanding, and shoot it with Flameproof Header Paint. It is really good stuff. 2+ coats and don't worry about it for a couple years. It is very easy to remove the header, and repaint them every couple few years. If you start to discolor them...

    New GS1100 owner here!

From the looks of the Header discoloration, I would say that it is likely still running too lean. Might want to check into that. With pods it is indeed a bit tricky to get it mixed correctly. Once you are there, you're gold, but getting there is a pain in the A$$. Good luck, and Merry Christmas.
