A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Bike stalls after 5 minutes

All good. So didn't touch the pilot screws? Did you replace the seats or just the needles? Did you re-check the float levels after fitting the new needle valves? There's no guarantee that the Keyster part is the same length or has the same spring tension on the plunger pin as the part it...

    Bike stalls after 5 minutes

Your on the right track, but I think the clue is that you can turn the choke off after 10 seconds, which to me says the pilot mixture is rich. The best way of thinking about the the throttle is that it controls the AIR flow. NOT fuel flow, especially with CV carbs where there is no direct...

    Spark Plugs

As above, stock was resistors in the caps, none in the plugs. The exotic electrode plugs are more resistant to spark erosion, so wear slower and keep their sharp electrode edges longer. They don't add power, just deteriorate a slower rate. Makes sense for long service interval cars. Worth the...

    Won’t rev past 7000 rpm

OK. Compression is a little low, but even across the cylinders. ( around 128 - 175 psi is the spec range). You say it has ignition points? Can you post a photo of the points assembly? Also have the plugs been changed?

    Won’t rev past 7000 rpm

You need to check the ignition advances from the 'F' mark to align the second fully advanced mark at around 2750 rpm using the strobe. This is actually the more important alignment as essentially below 2750 rpm is idle. If the ignition timing is too advanced or retarded at full ignition...

TSCC = Typical Suzuki Clobbers the Competition

Funny thing about TSCC is technically there's no swirl... The inlet charge motion is technically 'tumble'. Swirl is around the axis of the bore and generated in 2-valvers by offsetting the inlet tract to cylinder. Tumble is on the same axis as the crank and was pioneered by Ken Duckworth of...

    some kind of short

Clicking of the starter relay with sluggish or no spinning of the starter can be due to a bad ground on the starter relay. The relay mounting strap is the ground and its electrical connection to the negative pole of the battery is indirect. To test make up an earth wire connecting the mounting...

    GS1000 Electronic Ignition/CarbQuestion

Just to echo Zed above, accurate ignition timing makes a huge difference and given that this has been changed... You said "Settings with Airbox: 95 Main, 17.5 Pilot, 7/8 turns out on fuel screw, 1.5 turns out air screw, 3rd clip position on needle" So, both fuel and air screws, so I assume we...

    Clutch Engagement Point

There isn't really a way to adjust the engagement point. The adjusters are there to remove cable free-play. As soon as the push rod starts to lift the pressure plate you are disengaging the clutch. If you want to have the clutch engaging earlier in the lever travel you have to live with cable...

installing a volt meter on gs1100e

Gotta agree with Rich. Here's the factory alternator output test. It's also advisable to do a continuity/short to ground test on the three phases of the alternator to begin with. Measuring the output of the three phases of the alternator tells you that tells you that each leg of the stator is...
