A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Newbie through and through

Very nice find, congrats! I'd say skip those pods and stick that airbox; if you go with the pods, you're going to have a long fun time rejetting the carbs (which also probably need a clean; but it's worth it to not replace the carbs either) Looks like you may have some slight starting...

gs450 - still not running right

Having this exact same issue with my GS450T; I replaced the carb boots, and I'm marking it up to an air leak on the new boots. I put a liquid gasket between the engine and the boot (being very careful to keep it on the exterior of the O-Ring to ensure nothing gets into the engine area) - It's...

    That's a Texas GS450T, y'all

Sorry, let me clarify since I have done more research, long since that mistake occurred of leaving prime on as long as I had; My petcock is a standard Vacuum / CV Petcock for this year model (1981 GS450T - It is an OEM Petcock) - It has 3 positions; -Fuel/On (Middle): The CV Petcock allows for...

Is this a normal amount of engine noise?

Sorry - Just trying to offer whatever I know while learning myself. Didn't mean to offend the old timers with more experience; thus why I said that. :encouragement:

All that said; I need help finding new carb/engine intake boots badly. I see a lot of options on Amazon, but none of them say GS450T, and though some of these LOOK like they may work, there's things that giving me pause (minor bends, sizing doesn't look exact, etc.) and all of the "Suzuki...

Rob S. Before I realized half the carb wasn't kicking in, I set it to prime for about 5-10 minutes thinking that the rebuild I did needed time to set and fill -- Like I said before I realized that was wrong and one of the filters was a problem; That's why my brain hops to "this could be my fault...

Is this a normal amount of engine noise?

For 1; Congrats on the bike, and the fact it sounds so nice For 2; That cover that you're zooming in on isn't your engine - That's your chain cover / housing. Behind that is a sprocket that drives your chain - The chatter is kind of normal from what I've seen / heard, but it could also be a...

Oh, and if anyone has a link for a carb boot that's in stock; apparently GS1000 carbs are angled up and thicker; so my new papa needs ANOTHER pair of boots.

GSXR7ED Well that's the interesting thing; There's no sign that it is leaking that I can find (which ultimately I still don't know where the gas is coming from - Everyone online tends to point to rebuilding the engine which sounds costly and painful so trying to pin down the problem) I...

Rich82GS750TZ yeah I've been checking out the local resources; Living in East Texas, the resources are thin, but they exist (and are expensive) -- I'll probably end up having to go into Dallas to get a half decent course at an affordable rate but I'll keep you updated :D

Man's got a nice garage, nice bikes, nice taste; leave his laundry alone :dancing:

Interesting, through all my googly detectiving I've not seen Petcock come up; Why the petcock if you don't mind me asking? I've tried 3; one leaked, one didn't let anything through, and the one in there now appears to let gas through? Though I will say the fuel filter sometimes gets a lot of...

Dropped Bike Whining Noise in 2-4 Gear

It sounds like it...? I recently dropped my 1981 GS450T (I presume basically the same bike since it was a 2-year run) on my knee - There was no damage or change to the bike other than me realizing my gas cap leaks (yay me?). I hope you're doing okay and landed safely. Just at a standstill...

New question! Why is gas leaking into my engine? I had a problem before where it spewed gas out the exhaust pipe - Found out one of my slides was stuck open, I've fixed that and I don't have gas filling in the exhaust so I changed the oil. But I checked the oil, and suddenly it went from the...

Rich82GS750TZ -- Yeah that's the plan; Any suggestions on a good one that's inexpensive? dgates1 -- I did, and then I got a carb synch tool to clean it up more -- That said, finding out last night that the left carb was bone dry and fixing that gave some amazing results, but still funky fresh lol

Update; I wrenched it out some more today and here's what I found; The left Carb was not getting gas in the bowl when I removed the screw on the bottom of the bowl Took the carbs off again (FML) Hooked the gas up, and took the bowl off; confirmed where the gas comes from, and removed the screw...

Yessir! I made the seat cover myself since the leather seat is cracked, and I'm not a fan of sticky thighs anyways lol -- $10, some cloth, hot glue, elastic strips, and all set. The Suzuki tank badge is pending; I ended up breaking the screws when removing the badge from the old tank (had to...

Hey y'all, I'm Zellock, but y'all can call me Zell. :) I'm from West Tawakoni, Texas and I (will soon...one day...hopefully) ride a Suzuki GS450T - (LONG STORY INCOMING: TLDR AT THE BOTTOM) In 2019 my grandparents house had a house fire (It's alright; everyone and the dog made it out okay, and...
