A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Yeah I guess so. Tried blowing around the crankcase with an air hose but he didn't hear nor see anything so by now I'm thinking just send it and if it blows up, get an 1100 engine :chuncky:

    Lost a nut down the crankcase today...how f.ed am I ?

Okay so here's the latest update, he didn't find the piece when dropping the oil pan. He borrowed a boroscope but couldn't find anything so three days ago I went to see If maybe I could find something. Experiences with aftermarket/non oem airbox rubbers?

I'm helping my buddy patch together a 1980 gsx750 and one of it's flaws was the airbox to carb rubbers that where so hard they where almost plastic. And preivous owners attempt at pushing box on made the box cave inwards... So we ordered new rubbers from a company in japan on ebay and...

    Tuning with an air/fuel meter.

9.8 on a NA motor is to rich! Should be in the 12.5 to 13's for best power. Interestingly I had the same idea and made a probe and all that. Unfortunately readings was all over the place but I later found out that my cam timing was off by a couple of teeth which wildly impacted the running of...

new bikes, your opinion on current engine configuration trends

Character is definately a thing, I had a 05 intruder 800, and then an SV1000S and since the sv1000 I've loved those v twins and their low end grunt. Somewhat vibey sure, but that's character I guess. I've since tried other "modern" I4's and they all go fast but they just lack "character"...

Risks running pod filters in wet weather?

I haven't ridden my bike in the rain but many years ago when my mum rode around on it they toured all around in all kinds of weather and the bike never faulted... However if you have oiled fiters like k&n the oil is eventually gonna get washed away faster on the outer filters since the tank...

Is there a pilot screw tool?

I have a 1/4 bit driver set, it contains a 90degree adapter, I've found that if I use a long flathead bit it gives me the reach I need down to the screw. Unfortunately it's kind of bulky but it works for the gs. Maybe not more cramped bikes

    Lost a nut down the crankcase today...how f.ed am I ?

I actually bought a boroscope last year, if he doesn't find it after dropping the sump I guess I'll bring it out and have a look in there

    Lost a nut down the crankcase today...how f.ed am I ?

So basically what has happened is I gently nudged my coworker into buying a 80' GSX750 that needed some work and I've agreed to help him fix it.(Subcontiously I'm probably itching for another project but don't have the space at the moment:rolleyes:) The engine was leaking oil everywhere and...

Best motorcycle mobile holder for GPS navigation

I've used Ram mounts Xgrip on all the bikes I've had, they have a handlebar mount for motorcycles. Recently I installed a steering stem mount for use on my vfr but yeah. It's been fine for all navigation needs. I don't put anything over my phone as it's waterproof. Screen is bright enough.

    Gsx1100 Won't idle lower than 1500rpm

Bringing this back from the dead to give you guys the answer and solution. Finally! I'm well chuffed by this! So it turns out it's my own damn fault... Probably while assembling the top end the crank must have moved a tooth or two. This in turn lead to really low compression which screwed...

Clutch drag. Different lever perch gs/gsx?

I have a gsx1100 engine in my gs750 and it's hard to get it into neutral with engine running. I have checked and adjusted the cable but it's still misbehaving. I have even tightened the cable to the point where the clutch will slip under load but still it's hard to get into neutral. It clanks...
