I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

    Re-Instatement of 83 GSX750 EZ from a 7/11 to a 750 & creating a new 1100

So it has been a while that this project has been on hold and i am just about there but i have 1 issue. When i start the engine there is a loud noise (sounds like metal scraping) coming from lhs of engine. As soon as the engine starts the noise stops completely so i have to assume starter...

    A Milestone Reached on my 86 GSX750ESD

I have ridden it most weeks since then and went round the clock (sort of) in 2018. The only upgrade was to replace the old GSX11 Lunchbox headlight with a Round one. So that brings us to yesterday. A little maths is required here i'm afraid 76888 - 59945 = 16943 (the km that disapeared when...

    Re-Instatement of 83 GSX750 EZ from a 7/11 to a 750 & creating a new 1100

So i finally got around to doing compresion test. 70 -75 all round so thats not good. I have pulled the head and block off and will do some measuring to see which direction i head. There is nothing obvious like broken rings to explain the lack of compression. Any suggestions on likely issues?

    Re-Instatement of 83 GSX750 EZ from a 7/11 to a 750 & creating a new 1100

So i installed the valves back in the head and mounted the head back on the cylinder block.Cam shafts went in and as i was about to start installing the cam shaft clamps i realised i had 1 broken bolt in the head. It was on outer edge so i covered the internals and drilled it out. The easyout...

    Re-Instatement of 83 GSX750 EZ from a 7/11 to a 750 & creating a new 1100

So i have enough strenth back to do some easy work so i have been decarbonising the cylinder head, pistons and top of cylinder bore. It was prety thick in places which would probably explain why i only had 65 PSI when i first tried to run it last September. Obviously it wouldn't fire with that...

    Re-Instatement of 83 GSX750 EZ from a 7/11 to a 750 & creating a new 1100

It has been quiet for a few months now due to my having a collision on my bicycle with a car backing a trailer out onto the road in front of me. I was in hospital for 7 weeks with broken pelvis and shoulders. Been home for 6 weeks now but wont be lifting any spanners for a while yet. 1 update is...

Powder coat or spray paint frame

I have gone both options on separate restorations in the past. On my gsx1100 i got the frame, swingarm and multiple brackets powder coated for approx $300 (circa 2013). In 2014 i restored gsx750 and thought i would have a go painting instead as i mistakenly thought $300 was a bit expensive and i...

    Re-Instatement of 83 GSX750 EZ from a 7/11 to a 750 & creating a new 1100

Its been quiet for a few weeks but i have just got it road legal and registered again. it had a few niggles that failed the WOF. Some i should have picked up and others took a bit of investigation. The PO had installed the front trye the wrong way round and i didnt even notice the directional...

    Re-Instatement of 83 GSX750 EZ from a 7/11 to a 750 & creating a new 1100

Luncheonette ?? I have no idea what you mean. So i had 2 sets of carbs to choose from. The first set ran great at idle and low throttle but ran out of puff at higher throttle. The other set were the exact opposite. I checked main jets and set 1 had 105 while set 2 had 130. Rather than just...

    Re-Instatement of 83 GSX750 EZ from a 7/11 to a 750 & creating a new 1100

From this point it was fairly quick putting it all back together as I already had the plastics and tank painted. The seat was in 1 piece with no rips in the cover and the metal tray in reasonable condition. I think I have a spare set in the roof space so I will dig that out condition.

So I stripped all the flakey paint off and gave it a quick spray with some black paint and started the re-assembley. I had another set of forks laying around so they have gone in. and the 1100 engine has gone in

    Re-Instatement of 83 GSX750 EZ from a 7/11 to a 750 & creating a new 1100

A PO seemed to love the colour Red as the frame and swingarm are painted this lovely shade. I am going to strip the swingarm back to bare metal The frame has the red base but the black topcoat is just floating off in lots of locations so I will strip the black off, clean up the red base...

    Re-Instatement of 83 GSX750 EZ from a 7/11 to a 750 & creating a new 1100

The whole object of this part of the project is to onsell it ASAP as I already have a pristine 81 GSX1100 and I think I will make a moderate profit so I definitely think I got a good deal. Even if I dont it doesnt matter as it keeps me occupied for long periods. It only took an afternoon to...
