A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Grime in Valve Cover

After trying to start it, I’d pull the spark plugs and see if they are wet with fuel or dry. If dry you prolly have a fueling issues. If wet with fuel prolly a spark issues. Additionally, place the spark plug on the cylinder head with spark plug wire attached and try and start it. If it throws...

No Spark on 2 and 3! Frustrating as can be.

Just for clarification: Title says “no spark” which would be an electrical issue. Post says “ no fire” which could be electrical or fuel issue.

No Spark on 2 and 3! Frustrating as can be.

Try swapping the coils from side to side and see if the problem moves to 1&4. If it does, then it sounds like a coil issue. If the problem stays on 2&3 we may have to get into the TCI module.

Old Hondas are cool too, in fact they are Dreamy

IIRC, (it’s been 60 plus years!), in my 305 Dream the pistons went up and down together while my friend,s 305 Super Sport the pistons were staggered 180 degrees out (like a John Deere tractor). Which way does that Norton twin run?

Finding positive wire running from battery to ignition switch

I hope I can help without making it even more confusing. Look at Rich’s nice color wiring diagram. (Thanks Rich!) Lets start at the ignition switch and follow the red wire “backward” from the way the voltage flows. (That’s because I’m left handed :-) That other end of that red wire is the bullet...

The END is near (California guys)

At my age I was finding it difficult to pull the rope fast enough to get my gas mower going. Bought a battery powered mower a few years ago. Discovered all the points you mentioned above. And I can add two more advantages: It always starts. And it is supposed to run for 50 minutes, but I can...

    Relay upgrades for '79 GS850G

The whole electrical system is fused at 15 amps. The full lighting system is fused at 10 amps. The "signal" circuit (horns, turn signals) are fused at 10 amps. That should give you an idea of relay capacity required. for the original system. Put your meter across your big new horns and...

    Electrical Parts Source

I have run across the following site in Tenn. that has some Suzuki electrical parts. Search their main site, but their Outlet Store has more Suzuki items on sale (parts they will no longer carry.). A couple of months ago I purchased a spare stator for my GS750E ($59 if IRCC) and was impressed...

    Performance parts for gs850g.

I would think that if the distance from the cam centerline to the crank centerline is the same for both engines, and the crank and cam sprockets are the same diameter, nothing would have to be "adjusted". Weather the 750 cam lobe profile and lift would be "good enough" for the 850, I would leave...

    Performance parts for gs850g.

So let's take your 850: Lets say one cylinder equals 212 cc's. Lets say the combustion chamber is 24 cc's. Shoving those 212 cc's into a 24 cc combustion chamber. My old slide rule comes up with a compression ratio of 8.83:1 Now lets bore it out to. say 215 cc, and shove...

No, you didn't say something that offended me. I'm sorry if I implied that by using the wrong emoji.. But increasing the bore does raise the compression ratio.

    On/off switch for headlight, taillight

My 1980 GS 750 has a light switch but it was locked in the on position. I didn't like the headlight on when hitting the starter, either. I was able to open the light switch and remove the little thingy the factory put in there to make it an always on switch. Now I can turn the headlight on when...
