A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Painted wheels black but masked off the thin raised sections, love the original Suzuki style rims- also this is a rim from T model 550. It’s 17” x2.5 instead of the Katana 18” x2.15. I put a 130-90 Bridgestone Battlax

Stock paint has crooked emblem, clear coating over it, what to do?

I can print you a Suzuki logo whatever colors you want directly on to a colored rectangular background all one layer so you can hide any blemishes on base paint with the decal and then clear over everything- I have a sign shop

    Hello from Long Island NY

Bought a 17” x 2.5” rim from a T model 550, now I can safely fit a 130 tire. Diameter will be practically same as the original 18” x 2.15, but fill up the back of the bike and make it more aggressive looking

Jdub goes there 1981 650e rebuild

You probably figured out how to make the highly polished aluminum look more stock, but I hit the faces with horizontal 1,500 grit wet, then sides with vertical sanding.

Ok thanks for the info, I will probably wait till I’m done in the spring

    Stock headers with modern mufflers

I have a 1982 GS550 with stock exhaust, I want to keep the stock headers and replace the two mufflers with modern ones. I don’t want to switch to a 4 into 1. Anyone do something like this on any GS?

    650 Head

Just did some more research here on this swap and it’s more complicated than I can do.

    650 Head

Ok thanks, yes I read some of the older posts on the subject but the exhaust match up was hard to find

    650 Head

If I got a nice 650 head/ pistons, can I just bolt it on my 550? Of course new gaskets etc. How would I widen the 550 case for 650 bore and will my 550 exhaust bolt up with no mods? Thanks
