    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

THIS is a big step forward

While I acknowledge the negative effects of smoking.. I think this is just government overreach. Wonder when they'll ban cheeseburgers?

With the air filter pods it's going to be too lean. That's why your idle mixture screws have to be 3 turns out.

Old Bike, new rider, same ol' problems - 1980 GS550E

I suggest you get a Morgan Carbtune Pro for balancing the carbs. Not too expensive and very easy to use. Comes with the correct nipples you will need for the hoses. Chances are you will be taking the carbs off again in the future as a matter of maintenance and it's a good idea to balance them...

    Pic of the week game

Good pics this week. I like Baatfam's as it seems like the logical entry. I have one like that of my Grandpa's 1969 Glastron Tri-hull boat as it was rolling out of my driveway and the last time I saw it. But I'll vote for Burque73 and his clever take on the theme.

    Landmark moment in music!

I will agree that live experiences definitely help you connect with the artist. I can't really stand any "Van Hagar" music, but when I saw Sammy and the Wabos live... that guy can really rock and I had a new respect for his music.

    1983 GS1100 emissions sticker needed

What is the mileage? If over 7500 then not an issue... Below from Google. If not.. get a clock that has that many miles on it. Based on California DMV regulations, a 1983 Suzuki GS1100 generally does not require a smog check to be registered, as smog inspections are currently only mandatory...

    1983 GS1100 emissions sticker needed

The image should be in your owners manual if you have that.. or can find it online. All the one's on BikeCliff's website do not have "1983" :-k I don't think the standards changed at all. Just use the 1980 one and have the decal guy change the year. Page 28 on the link below...

I was working with a guy on eBay to reproduce a VIN tag. He does custom made decals to order. Might be worth checking if he has this one already. Jerry's Z50 Stuff - User name - jrure. Email - jrure@aol.com

The source in the thread below does VIN stickers and might be able to reproduce if you had images. Might send an email anyway, he may have produced this one before. https://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/forum/technical-forums/projects-rebuilds/1762493-1978-gs750ec#post1762558

    Pilot Jet Stripped

If you end up losing all of the purchase you can get on the slot trying with the correct size screwdriver, try a left-handed drill bit after oil and heat. Then a torx if you have to like Ed said.
