A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Nope. Agreeing completely with someone is not a way to needle them. :D

    Significant setback for self-driving vehicles

I don't understand how this is possible. Full self-driving has been fully functional since 2016, and Tesla's are the only heavily mass produced car to actually APPRECIATE in value as a result.. I think this is a conspiracy to smear Musk's reputation by the communist left.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

LOL... Ummm... in 1996 I rode from Mesa, to Globe to Roosevelt.... to Tortilla flat. It still makes my top 10 stupid things I've done list. Also on that list is taking my then 21 year old fiance' on that same ride. We ended the relationship a couple years later. They've been doing major work...

Why does intake leak cause hanging high idle ?

Lean means ALL the fuel is being burned, so you're extracting the maximum amount of energy from the incoming fuel. The additional air from the leak is increased mass. More energy extracted from fuel + more mass flowing through the engine = more energy imparted to the engine = higher idle speed.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

My question is how do you post more than ONE. I tried to post two, and it denied me. Is it about user longevity and post count?

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Very fortunate to have this as a 65 mile round drip ride from my driveway: Up past Tortilla Flat at the end of the pavement on the Apache Trail in AZ. Going to be glorious when they finish paving all the way to Roosevelt Dam. Our group was the Goldwing, my GS and my buddy's (taking the...

Had an occasion to make an aggressive ride to Tortilla Flat today on GS1. Lots of curves, hard braking and hard drives out of apexes. Was a little more sane and only dragged the left peg once. The stock M/C after the new crush washers and zip-tied handle overnight was at least 10-20% better than...

In retrospect, that's fork oil, NOT brake fluid. It's kinda that greenish color, and it's caused no paint damage. Plus, I tracked it down to the seam between the fork tube and the anti-dive unit. Getting new o-rings on order... Dagnabbit... love these old bikes, but there's always something!!! :p

    Foods that you cannot eat?

IMHO, this is more about access and over-share than it is a significant change. I know LOTS of boomers in their 60s and 70s that have had digestive issues with certain foods for their entire adult lives. At 54 and fat with a relatively low quality diet, I have no food issues beyond less...

Update: GS1, stock M/C. I totally spaced on the zip tie trick. I left GS1 that way overnight. Lever feel firmed way up with no pump-up. Unfortunately, I now had enough fluid pressure to identify other weak points in the system. PRIOR to the zip tie trick, I could NOT lock up the front wheel...

By 5/8" you mean that's the piston dia (just under 16mm)? I found one for $51 delivered, so I'm going to give it a try. Thanks.

I get what you're saying. The issue is that Chinese manufacturers can't be trusted by default. A good friend of mine was reliant on a Chinese supplier for a major component of his product (literally no other supplier on the planet). He had to test it extensively. He would regularly discover that...

Thank you sir. It looks like they have several options that include a banjo bolt pressure switch with the master cylinder and one that has a brake switch with the same connectors as stock. Gotta weigh my options. Still have a preference for a Japanese option where rebuild is an option in the...

Thanks. I hear you. I didn't mention it, but I've had stainless lines on this bike (GS1) for 15+ years, and I have followed the Suzuki shop manual bleeding procedures multiple times. GS2 recently had stainless lines installed and an ebay aftermarket master cylinder that looks almost identical...

I've had very mixed results on Aliexpress. I have found it's a fantastic way to get ripped off or at a minimum get your funds tied up and require you to dispute charges UNLESS you're dealing with a reputable seller. Can you supply the specific seller you used? Thanks, Steve
