DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

hello guys. i had been a member on here a few years back and ended up selling my gs. well after it had been in a really bad flood and left sitting for a few years it ended up with me again. as of right now its just a frame and a title for me. i have the opportunity to get an 03 gsxr 750 with a salvage title and i would like to put the 03 motor in the 83. i know that the frame design is completely different but im not really all that worried about that. im thinking i will have to ditch the airbox and find a fuel tank that i can weld the pump mount into. my main question is has anyone on here done a motor swap like this (twin spar frame motor in a cradle style frame) and down draft fuel injected setup with a frame and fuel tank that was designed for a regular set of carbs and no pump in the tank? any and all input is welcome in regards to this build.
a bit of background on me i guess. im not new to bike or motor swaps. my last build wasnt as complicated as this but wasnt that far off.

Welcome back. That would be a powerful swap. If you ran a custom intake setup to account for the angle of thise throttle bodies, you should clear the gas tank. The other issue is how large is the radiator for that motor. You may run into clearance issues. Aesthetically, the rad is going to look out of place, imho. A member did a watercooled swap, but I can't find the thread.ill see if I can find it

as of right now im almost tempted to just cut the head tube off, make a jig, and make a whole new frame.

or just run the lowest profile pod filters i can and tune the motor with a power commander to compensate for the volume of air it would be getting. not really worried about power as my other bike has about 180 at the rear wheel and weighs about 375 pounds dry. give or take. built 08 gsxr 1000 motor in a 98 gsxr 750 frame. a few other little things done here or there ;)
heres an older pic
