    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I've read a lot about this and heard conflicting numbers relating to valve lift, duration etc. from each of these cams. Here are the numbers that I measured when I did this swap. These numbers were measured on the valve.

GS 1100

Intake:
Duration - 228.25 degrees
Lift - 0.293"

Exhaust
Duration - 231 degrees
Lift - 0.277"

GS 1150

Intake:
Duration - 227.5 degrees
Lift - 0.313"

Exhaust:
Duration - 221.5 degrees
Lift - 0.297"




I degreed the cams to 104/106. There is noticably more torque down low and the top end is similar but doesn't feel like it's hitting the limiter too soon as it used to (power stops building). I'm equating this to the fact that the power was moved lower which is logical.

I am not sure if it is stock or not. When I removed the valve cover the stock intake sprocket had been slotted so the PO might have put a different cam in it. I'm not sure. I slotted the exhaust sprocket.

I found information saying that 1150 cams were ~0.330 lift. Just wanted to make this post to confirm what they are (or are not). I was thinking maybe the 0.330 was measured at the valve and 8mm is the height of the cam lobe (listed in the manual), however the measurement is, in fact, the displacement of the valve. I'm not sure where people were coming up with 0.330.


Also, for reference, when I checked the lobe centers of the 1100 cams they were at 106/104

The 8.0mm is listed in the manual as "valve lift", not lobe height. There is a 1.5:1 ratio so you would have to be way off to confuse the two.
