A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hi, I'm planning to buy a 1980 Suzuki GS850G, this model is the G the on that uses drive shaft. I don't like the stock wheels that much. Can I change to classic spoked wheels?....the reason I ask it's because this weird shaft instead of chain make me doubt.

Thanks
JC

Hate to sound crude, but if you don't like the wheels or the shaft drive, why get the 850?

All 850s are shaft-driven, and there are no spoked wheels that can be fitted to any of our shafties without some serious modification.

I know the spokes/cast thing is subjective preference, but I will just say that the cast wheels that come on the bike are virtually maintenance-free, so you don't need to worry about them, EVER.

The 1982+ 850/1100G wheels will fit on the early shaft drive bikes. They are slightly different but maybe not enough to matter.

There was a different thread here recently on this exact topic, inside someone said that Suzuki Maurder bike guys are installing GS wheels to replace their spoke wheel originals. Since they are able to do this than maybe you could go back the other way?
