DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Yeah they're pretty much one peice...Ive seen guys pry them out, and then stick new in there and glue em in...dunno how much of a pain that is, or how effective it is either... If you need some good OEM coils, let me know, i prolly have some layin around. ORRR get a set of Dyna coils...they use standard sparkplug wires and can be changed out as needed separate of the coil...

Welcome to GSR.

Yes, wires are fused into the coils. I heard of others digging them out and replacing the wires somehow, will let others describe that.

When you say that the wires need to be replaced, let me ask this: Are you sure its not the plug caps that are bad? Those caps do twist off the wires (caps have a threaded spike in them that stab into the wire) and are readily available, and do go bad (high resistance) over time and usage.

yes the caps have been changed. the wires look bad that's why i wanted to change them just to eliminate a doubt that they are causing problems.

it is actually a friend of mine's bike and it has a problem at high revs, bogs down. had to duct tape the hole on airbox.
it has 4 in 1 exhaust and i'm wondering if that is causing a problem or if carbs need rejetting?

Boogs at hig revs .... custom exhaust .... airbox problems ....

SOmeone other than me is going to have to help you.

Bogs at high revs... Fix your airbox..like for real, not duct tape. You also probably have intake leaks elsewhere such as the intake boots, airbox boots, etc etc... A 4into1 WILL need a step or two up on the main jet, no matter what anyone tells you. It makes me angry that companies sell 4into1s claiming they dont NEED to rejet...its crap. They're full of crap and should be ashamed. sounds like you have alot more problems than plug wires my friend..

re:Bogs at high revs

yea thanks guys, the 4 in 1 i think is causing problems. the duct tape was just to see if it was running lean. my buddy bought it like this with the 4 in 1 and with this issue.
