A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

2020 IOM TT Cancelled

Balls = stupidity in this instances.

Joey Dunlop is dead. RIP. A great racer.

Disagree. ALL motorcycle racing could easily be called stupid. Just because this version is harder and more risky does not make it stupid. There is a magic to the TT that just doesn't exist in Moto GP.

Michael is alive and still a badass.

There have been 260 Isle of Man deaths since the beginning, but more importantly, 36 in the last 10 years. That makes it stupid. Period. It's not a motorcycle race testing the best riders ability to control their bike it's about the guy willing to take the biggest risk. MotoGP has the best riders, the best machines, racing on safe courses. That's not to say motorcycle racing is totally safe, but at a proper track they remove stuff the rider can crash into when they fall off, unlike IOM.

The TT race is iconic for sure but to me it's just plain stupid. I'd much rather watch MotoGP.
The Irish people are just plain stupid, from your lofty opinion of yourself?thank you preacher ed?
Go watch your tv?

Ed, there is zero proof that GP racers are better than TT racers, and when push comes to shove, the bravery of the best TT racers would most likely win out on the TT no matter who showed up. Rossi did a lap once and said he could see why people love it but that it was too dangerous for him. The GP racers are not smarter, and they probably aren't better. They are just more risk averse. The roots of GP racing lie on Man, and there is no reason to bury them. Peter Hickman is one hardy soul from Superbike who does okay there, and I'd be willing to bet he's become a better rider for the TT.

So what your saying is no one gets killed in other forms off motorcycle racing or gets hurt the tt has been around a lot longer than moto gp the guys that race here choose to race here they love it moto gp riders old 500 riders got killed too you know

GP racing developed from closed road course racing in the interests of safety and visibility, but that is not an argument for throwing away the original, which is much more challenging, much more exciting, and more attractive aesthetically, too.

The ultimate big money is in Moto GP, so that brings a lot to it. The GP tracks are about as ugly as an airport, and spectators are kept just about as far away as insurance will allow. The only way to watch is on tv.
The IOM TT and National Irish Road Racing is real road racing, what anybody can do on their own country roads. It's what I do, and you can do it on any bike you own.
Outlawing that kind of racing, to make it extinct, the idea appalls me.

Irish Road Racing makes the Isle of Man TT Look Cushy (story)
