If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hello everyone. I'm in the market for a few pricey parts for my 1980 GS550L and I'm looking for an online vendor who can ship right to my door, but reasonable prices are my priority for these parts as I am a poor college student. Can anyone point me in the direction of the most economical parts vendor? This is what I need:

[edit]: I've been to bikebandit.com, and denniskirk.com, but I'm looking for more (and hopefully cheaper) resources to go to for parts. Oh, and I do have a local suzuki dealer.

New Chain - 530 I think, but don't know how many links I need, and preferably O-Ring type.

New Sprockets Front&Rear - I've had almost no luck finding these online for my bike. Can anyone recommend an aftermarket brand and tell me how many teeth I need and what not?

New Exhaust - I have a 4-into-2 system with the crossover beneath the bike that is rusting away. I'd like to get a new 4-into-2, but all I can find is the 4-into-1 system by MAC. I want to do the exhaust work without having to adjust the carbs if possible, and I need the cheapest dealer available. Any thoughts?

New rear shocks/springs - These are going to cost a pretty penny. Can anyone recommend a brand or cheap vendor?

I REALLY appreciate anyone?s comments, help, and suggestions. Thanks!

according to the Dennis KIrk listing for 80gs550L 15/51 combo check your old sprockets 530X110 chain front 8-293 $12.95 rear 8-215 $40.95 Parts unlimited O ring chain $89.95 Don't skimp!!! with steel sprockets & good chain it will last anywhere 20K -25K miles a cheap one may only last 5K miles. Exhaust -- ebay is your best bet

I would definitely recommend Dennis Kirk for the sprockets and chain, they are a little pricey compared to some, but customer service is excellent, and shipping is free for all orders over $100. Cyclerecycle is an awesome parts source, I forget wether they sell chains or not. O-ring is definitely the way to go. Just count all the teeth on both sprockets and the links in your chain, and yes it's a 530.

Although I'm a rookie I will second the Denniskirk vote. I've ordered from them and items were sent same day and no problems. Thats important to me. I also search ebay daily and have found some good deals there. BTW I recently got a 79 550L. I you try ebay do a search for gs 550 in parts and accessories, asian, you'll get about 4 pages of stuff. There are usually about two exhaust systems on the auction block at all times.
