I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hello everyone, this is my first post and would like to know if there are other complete exhaust systems for the GS650G other than MAC. I have searched the forum and so far all I have found are links to MAC and references to Vance Hines and Motad. I know stock exhaust is ideal but my is shot (holes all the way through) and I like the look of the 4-1 better I am comfortable with the idea of re-jetting (thanks to this forum) so that is not a problem. Also my intake boots are shot so I am going to upgrade to K&N pods, now this is just me being lazy and throwing it in there but does anyone have a link handy for the ones I need? Thanks for all the help.

I have an 81 650g too and from my experience and from what I've read here it is not worth it to try to hot rod this bike, largely because of the shaft. You will make your life a lot easier if you keep it as close to stock as you can, as in the intake and exhaust, because this bike is never going to become a gsxr600, but really wants to be a wonderful smooth tourer for you. Looks good, sounds good, and is comfortable which is more than you can say for most of the bikes being turned out these days. Suzuki still stocks all the intake parts and exhausts can be found if you're patient.

Greetings and nice bike :). I believe what physics-teacher says is true. For the amount of performance you could squeeze out of the bike with pods and an aftermarket 4-1 exhaust, with the headaches you will have trying to rejet, you might as well keep it stock. The first thing I plan on doing to my bike is suspension mods to get it to handle better. That being said, I think you've hit all the exhausts available for our bikes V&H (theres a set of V&H drag pipes on Ebay for a 650), Motad and MAC. It's also been said that MAC is of inferior quality. Don't have a link to the Pods but I believe we have 54mm carbs... Good luck and keep us updated with your progress.

Thanks for all the input. I didn't really have performance in mind I just know there are problems with aftermarket exhaust and carbs (without re-jetting). Ill just keep my eyes open for stock parts I'm looking for.

The carbs are bs 32 ss carbs. You can get some slip on replacement mufflers from www.jcwhitney.com or www.denniskirk.com also.I have tried this myself and have found nothing. If your pipes from the cylinder to the mufflers are good this is probably all you can do.I have been told that a 550 exhaust will fit with a little persuasion. Good luck finding anything. A salvage yard might have some upper pipes too.

I know I'm going against the grain... But I tend to do so. I also have a 650- a 1983 GS650GL. It has pods and is getting a custom exhaust, cams, and a shaved & lightly ported cylinder head. I know its only going to add like 20 HP total, but that's still over 20% increase which is relatively a lot. I also has GSXR shocks on order from Ebay and am going to fabricate some brakets to mount two of them on the back end (it'll be a little stiff, but not too bad I imagine). Sure it'll never beat a GS1100 or a GSXR600 but it will have more get up and go, plenty of great handling, and some nice style in my opinion.

I say do what you want to the bike. Don't expect dramatic increase on the dyno from pods and a pipe but it will give you some HP (when the fuel curve is reset), allow your own custom taste, and make it sound better.

The GS650 is as deserving as any other bike of customizing if not more so.

I agree!! Do what you want to. it's your bike.I have the full vetter package and like it that way.I have progressive suspension front and rear and it runs great! These bikes deserve respect! They are fast for what they are and a very good all around bike! i like the cruiser looks anyway.

That's a nice GS650 in that link... I don't care for the fairing myself (I like the bare look) but it is in pristine condition especially for an '83.

I didnt car for it either when I got it but I got use to it. One thing about it though, it can be changed. It does help in the winter plus Im older now and dont like all that wind.
