DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

My cell is 516-449-2222. Give me a ring maybe Saturday night, and let's see what the weather is looking like for Sunday. Maybe we can get the guys from Centereach and Westhampton too, and pick a place to meet, and we'll go from there.

Im there give me a place to meet or I can show you some roads out east greenport to shelter island to sag harbor to easthampton back west any time .

Hey Tarbash, Rocketman here. How long have you lived in Centereach? I actually graduated from Centereach High School in 1978! Used to live on Lake Grove Street, off North Coleman Road, across from North Coleman elementary.

well im quite a bit younger, i just graduated from centereach in 2005. i live on noel dr. about 1/2 mile from the school. im a bit busy this weekend having a party sunday if its nice and going to riverhead raceway on saturday night to see monster trucks if somehow it doesnt rain. also i have to finish up my bike after i changed the front end. ill have it done real quick. i also have 2 friends that i always ride with that could come on a ride sometime in the future. they have some older honda cb's.

I look forward to meeting all of you sometime, and hanging out. Age & bike don't matter to me, so long as you're good guys.

anyone up for alittle blast around center to eastern Long Island early tommorow

Would love to except for a little malfunction, which cut my ride short today to Heckscher Park.
See my post under: http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/showthread.php?t=98036

I'd love to go for a cruise, but I'm afraid if I ever stopped, I'd have to push almost 600 lbs of dead weight all the way home to Bay Shore. If you had similar issues, who do you think is the BEST zuke mechanic on the Island. Assuming money was not an issue (which it always is) I don't care if he's an east ender or here by me. Ive been working with Chuck from Chuck Wagon racing in Farmingdale, but I'm afraid he's exhausted all his best guesses, and now its gonna be trial and error and more $$$$$$.

Hey DDZ, I'm from Bay Shore, Martin Fink is from Westhampton and Arie is from N. Babylon. I'd like to get together for a cruise with you guys too. 9/10 there's supposed to be a few thousand bikes at Riverhead Raceway for some type of motorcycle ralley. I'd definitely go there if I could make sure my bike was reliable enough. See my prior post.

If any of you LI guys can either help me figure out my dilemma, or find me a top notch mechanic this week, maybe we could hook up for the Riverhead Motorcycle Fair on 9/10. Sorry for short notice. See link:

rocketman, im a pretty good gs mechanic i guess, i can usually figure stuff out like your problem. me and my friends can get anything to run. i will be at the riverhead raceway event. ill probably be lurking around. but i will be the gs750 with the camoflage seat. so if im standing near it or something introduce yourself and maybe we can take a look at your bike.

If you guys are up for it, I'll be happy to come to Centereach to see you guys tomorrow (Monday)as I'm off from work-you just pick the time & place, or most anytime its convenienet for you. Not expecting miracles, but would certainly appreciate any help, and if we can hook up prior to the Riverhead event, I will be able to go with much more confidence. Thanks.

i dont think tomorrow will be good. i have to redo an entire apartment in my house. so my day is busy. maybe some other time during the week. ill have to get back to you on that.

Cool. Whatever works for you is fine with me.
(1) Do you think I should bother bringing my bike back to Chuck Wagon Racing in Farmingdale (who's done all the work so far) on Tuesday and see if he can figure it out, since he thought everything would be better after he adjusted the idle mixtures screws and installed the Dyna S, or not even bother?

(2) What do you think about Arie's ideas, as posted in Technical Area:

I am going to venture a guess, as I have had electrical gremlins that had behaved in a similar manner: ok cool, demonic when hot.

Some electrical connectors , especially those with corrosion and/or loose fitting ones, have more resistance, and thus generate heat. This heat exacerbates the situation, making an even worse electrical contact.

I would bet dollars to doughnuts that you have loose / bad connections to the coils, and correcting them will solve the problem. I suggest starting with the spade clips that go to each coil. remove one at a time, clean male terminal, examine & clean female terminal, squeeze female terminal with pliers, shoot with connection cleaner, reinstall, repeat on all 4.

also check the leads that come from the fuse box and go to the coils - or/wht i believe, same as above.

By the way Tarbash, what's your opinion of the pulling the spark plug cap thing I discussed and the spark up my arm discussion in technical area-see "Wit's end". Thanks.
