A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

The first Revelation was at roaring river. i cant ride as well as i once did..

The second was today when i ran across this bunch.
2 other Buells a 1000cc kawa and a Suzuki that had some sort of v twin in it. all crotch rockets.
They road through some twisties never under 60mph and these were like I never saw before. and in Florida too.
I got a car between me and the group. They waited for me at the stop sign and that was the last time i saw them. I guess took a wrong turn and ended up on a nowhere road that was dirt. Not for me. I asked directions on how to get to a main road and went home.
Wow the newer bikes have some handlinf ability too as i saw it

that yellow suzi is an SV. nimble and torquy for sure, but so is the Buell.
i kind of like the one in the green top!

You do ride very well Scotty, and I know, because I rode behind you on the seat of the Buell, at Roaring River.

I'm not sure of anything that far away. With the contract thing hanging over our heads no one here has any idea of what next summer will bring. The old contract with the University of California has been extended until the end of May and after that the new contract and contractor take over.

The things that make it hard to plan anything are:
If I leave my retirement in the UC system will my vacation and sick time transfer over with the new contractor? We had heard statements both ways.
If I leave my retirement with UC will I have a job with the new company?

We really don't know anything for sure at this point and they are not even going to announce who the new contractor is until December.

There is a fine line between riding well and riding fast. You probably ride better than you ever did, because mortality is now an isssue where as it wasn't when you were younger. You probably dont take the silly chances you once did, And I bet you survey your enviroment before you twist throttle not after. That isnt ridng worse than you once did its riding smarter.
I still ride hard, but not as hard as I once did. I can still hang with most in in the corners but cant seem to lose them the way I once did when I am leading. I have to "warm up" to riding fast and almost never just hop on the bike and fly. So I am in the same boat as you and most likley we all are.
However give me a 1/4 mile and a challenge and I may not be as good as I once was, but I dont feel I have lost as much when it comes to dragracing. I can still surpise the youngsters and have fun doing it.

Thanks Skip :D
