    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

yeah i figured that something was up when i couldn't get anything to flow in prime...looks like its the original unit. amazing it lasted 64,000.
 
Well the bike should be back together and ridable in two more weeks..just have to finish the flat black paint on the tank and the red frame. Sent the seat out to be reshaped and I should have it back probably wednesday or thursday.....everything is falling together nicely
 
stupid me...i had multiple problems with getting the bike running and the dumbest one which probably had alot to do with it not running besides the petcock would be what i finally noticed today...the stupid hose between the carbs for the vents/choke..i was missing one and was wondering why i could blow in one vent tube and have it feel like i was simply breathing. replaced that (had to be the biggest problem next to the fuel cover on the petcock missing). I just want to toss this engine back on the frame already. the bike is looking agressive in my mind just hope it looks good together(satin black frame, bbq grill flat black tank and engine accessories with gloss black accents) ..i'll let everyone know how it goes

Update**
Didn't quite get it to run yet because bikebandit believe a air filter for a 84-85 gs550 is the same as mine so I have to make a sock filter for the time being to get it setup to run.just working on a mounting solution for my tail lamp and rear signals now that I don't have a rear fender anymore. Hope to have it running next saturday afternoon.
