    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Here's some background on my situation. I'm rebuilding the carbs off a 1979 GS1000L with VM Mikunis. Here's another thread I started at the begining of the project.

I am to the "put it back together" stage of my carb rebuild and what happens? I find out that I have lost a spring. It is the spring to the pilot fuel screw on the bottom of the carb. Anyone have an extra one of these? I can't seem to find them on any parts diagrams anywhere. They couldn't even find it at the local Suzuki shop. What a dope I am.
 
If you don't get one before Sunday.. I will check my spare carb parts bags for one.

Hopefully you'll be in luck.

Rebuilding the Wife's carbs this wk, I had 3 bounce off the workbench, but luckily found them under a set of cases.

Don't be too hard on yourself mate. I did the same thing when I took my carbs down. I found it in the basket of the chem dip where I left it. :oops: Keep looking for it maybe you'll get lucky, like I did.

I was really hoping that this is where I would find it. But alas, I strained all my chem dip through a rag and could not find it. I've looked all over and can't seem to place it. I am definitely going to keep looking.
 
You know what's really depressing?? loosing that tiny tiny spring that is in the front brake lever light switch. only way to fix that puppy is to buy a whole new unit. Ask me how I know...... :roll:
 
try finding 4 of them. i was trying to cheet in cleaning the carbs by spraying them down with cleaner and letting them sit. my sister came over with her budy he was a bit high and moved the bike to work on his car.

yes he had to be high he was holding burnt wireing from his vans fan motor and could not find the problem. when i asked him what did you do with the springs from my carb he said what springs. need less to say when you pick up a book with a bunch of parts on them and trun in up side down you dont see all them little parts.

i had to drive 200 miles to get the parts replaced he lost. took a month to even find a set of carbs that had not been raded or trashed to bad.

need less to say my summer was shot by the time i got the parts. so was his van. :twisted:
 
They aren't really a precision device, you should be able to make something up for the time being.

Do you still have the small rubber O-ring & flat washer?????????

The spring holds the washer down onto the o-ring that keeps the needle sealed, at ALL heights of the needle position. /.

fixing to go look but squredancr said 1 was available.
