A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

I think that's your problem. I had an RF900 triple tree at first and ran into the same caliper issues. I looked on eBay and the cheapest triple tree was for an 08 Bandit 1250. I looked on a parts diagram and saw that the 01-05 GSF12 use the same lower triple as the newer 1250.

So whats my problem? I have calipers for early and late. I forgot to mention, the speedo drive tab is on the right, not the left. I bought a speedo drive for a bandit, and it mounts to left fork. Do i have an rf fork set?

I believe the fork spacing is your problem (it's throwing the calipers out of their intended spacing). All I can speak for is what I have, which is working for me during mockup....something changed with the early / later GSF12. Since I don't have early Bandit forks, I can only assume that the caliper mounts or the area around the wheel spacing is different with the later Bandit forks.

I had RF900 triple trees (which have the same fork spacing) and second generation Bandit forks as you, and I had problems lining up the 6 pot calipers. With the later B12 triple trees, everything lined up really well. If your 6 pot calipers were moved away from the center of the hub by 3-4mm each side, would they line up with the rotors? If so, you might try the later GSF12 or GSF1250 triple tree. I plan on using a digital speedometer, so I never checked the thickness (and therefore width) of the mechanical speedo drive of the early Bandit 1200.

All I can say is that's what worked for me, especially since I don't have the 4 pot calipers to measure.

front end sorted, went with the 6 pots, milled a minimal amount from the mounting tabs. spacers made up. fit is perfect. wheel centered. going with a koso digital dash setup. work on rear has progressed. need to fab up a spacer and that should be good. thanks for the tips guys.
