A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Cool Bike. I think I'm going to go with a similar style but less military and more last man but i don't what it to turn in to a rat bike.

Last Man... as in
225px-Y_-_The_Last_Man_23_-_Widow%27s_Pass_03_-_00_-_FC.jpg
?

Sounds interesting- I would love to see the pix when you're done. And mine's been likened to a rat bike by some guys at work but I guess that's ok. I'm almost done; just a little more paint work.

Oh and the guy who made this bike: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F21sf3FpZcw is going to give me a couple dummy grenades and help me (i.e. do it for me) drill & tap them to mount between the handlebars and mirrors. Currently I have to dip my shoulders to see behind me so those will not only look sweet but they'll add function to the mirrors as well.

PS: go with a shiny finish paint, regardless of color, and maintain the chrome and I don't think you'll be accused of having a rat bike :)

... I haven't decided what so let me get some opinions:
1) Armed forces logos (all four to be impartiall)
2) "GS850G"
3) My badge number and/or a Sheriff's Star
If you're going to show impartiality, you had better include all five.

It's surprising how many people forget that the Coast Guard is also a branch of the US military. 8-[

My mistake.

looks cool, anything done with intent is not really a rat. I like the ammo cans too, but they do look a little tight on space. I've kinda been looking for the 20mm (?) big ones myself, think they'd just be overkill?

but I also have a set just like those one's you took off! only older and without the correct mounting parts:rolleyes:. If you're wandering about the shop with your camera and could catch a shot of how they're set up, I'd be much obliged?

These pics are from when I was doing the work but they pretty much show what I did. The bottom mount is the Shoei bracket, the top two mounts I fabricated from angle iron and bent them in roughly the same angles as the shoei's. I used the same mount points as the shoei bags as well.

Edit:
Once I had the mounts attached I just held the box up and drew a mark on it with a sharpie, drilled, and used bolts/nuts/washers and LOTS of silicone to mount 'em up. I'm hoping the silicone will maintain some level of waterproofness since the lid is designed to be waterproof. For an idea on size- one can will easily hold a full body rainsuit tightly rolled up with room for a couple other things like a paperback book, wallet, etc.

gotcha. I hadn't noticed the signals ON the boxes, that's sweet!

thanks, I didn't even know what brand mine were, I bet I can find a bit more now.

now all you need is a personalized plate that says (A TEAM)
"I love it when a plan comes to gether".

Added:
Finished paint job,
Night vision goggle case for trunk,
Pineapple grenade mirror extenders:

Well, Sparkster, there are those who don't get it that would equate your bike with that infamous one made of wood and strap iron. As to the rest of us that get it, outstanding! Ooorah!
