A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • This forum is for placing reviews for parts, accessories, gear and service as it relates to your GS motorcycle. The key here is "GS Related". There is a bit of latitude here but we don't want to see a review on Maytag washers just because that's what you use to clean your riding jacket in.

Keep your review as factual as possible and please refrain from personal attacks. Posted articles will be reviewed by the Editors and may be removed at their discretion.

So let's make this a useful addition to the forum! A special pat on the back goes to Hap Call for coming up with this great idea.

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Bolts from Stainlesscycle.com

I recently purchased a GS1000 engine bolt kit, CV carb kit, and a few other loose fasteners from stainlesscycle.com. Their prices were quite fair, and the ability to purchase from a supply any number of additional fasteners was a selling point for me. They had very quick communication and when I received my package all the bolts were in separately labeled bags with a key sheet denoting which fasteners were for what parts. I have seen a few postings on here regarding customers not knowing what bolts were for what parts of the engine upon receiving their kits from other sellers. Also the engine kit was much more comprehensive that Z1's, 95 bolts vice 58. Stainlesscycle also sells kits in both polished and unpolished, and there is a noticable difference in the sheen of the hand polished bolts from the kit versus the unpolished loose bolts also purchased. I have compiled another list of random bolts that I will be needing for my project and plan on returning my business to them.

I've bought a few SS bolt kits from them - quite happy with the hardware but shipping was slow.

However, as you stated, the communication was excellent. I was accidently shorted 3 oil filter cover bolts on one order & they sent them to me ASAP with no hassles.

I received my package within a week of ordering and I placed my order on a weekend. Not sure where they are located in the US though...

Man I don't know if I can beat that price at my local bolt supply and they have low low prices on metric stainless..

Do they include the carb holder bolts?

I don't see the body to frame bolts for the VM carbs either.. just the 28 cap and bowl screws..

Not too sure about the VM carb bolts, I have CV. I know the CV carb kit does not include the gang rail bolts, just tops and bowls. Actually now they include the drain screws as well, but not when I purchased the kit.

I got a set for my CV carbs. Good shipping, and the price was way less than the hardware store. 2 thumbs up!
