A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Thanks Ray, that's what I was thinking too.

It sure would be nice if Suzuki would stamp some number other than 27 on all these cams to tell what size they are........ but who I'm I to say

At least cam motion has the right idea

Anyone know if specific GSX-R cams are drop-ins for a 750 motor?

And great returns on minimal investment, U.P.!!

-Q!

If they will fit the big bore GS engines they will fit the 700/750 models as well. You can't run the really high lift cams for the big bore engines but stock, air-cooled GSX-R stuff should be okay.

Well from what I know and that's not alot is you can findgsxr/katana cams that are 350/330, 340/320 and 330/280 ..... may be more too.

I hear that GSXR cams will work in GS 4 valve head motor's. I've haven't try that yet but I think there are a few things you got to do to make it work.

I got a GS head on the bench..... give me a minute and I'll check it out.

The gsxr/katana cams are about 1/4 shorter on each end and the oil hole on the end caps are exposed, also the gsxr cams might need alittle work to due the the four inside cam caps are bigger than the gsxr one thus the cam may hit or rub the cam cap area too. Remove any high spots on the cam and four plugs at the end of the cams to keep the oil in there and should be doable???

Here a pic of gsxr cams in a 82 gs1100 head, interesting.

You can see the oil passage in the end journals may be a problem (rubber end plug ??) causing low oil pressure. Since the cams are not machine that far over in the middle journal a high casting mark may hit/rub that journal area?? Oil will bleed out of that journal too since the cams will not seat up agaisnt it and may cause low oil pressure??? The end caps may wear alittle faster due to less support of the cam.

Also the cam had .009 side play when the cam caps were bolted down. The g4 cam for a GS had .010
