Anyway, the original chromed steel guard long since succumbed to creeping rot and got binned a decade ago, being replaced by a diy effort to keep the clag off the front of the bike and engine. During the tart-up that's ongoing, I espied the plastic guard on the front of the GSX1100E and liked the look of it
Here's what it looked like in its natural habitat...
And here's what's just arrived on my doorstep.. Mmm... lovely plastic, no more horrible chrome to polish and keep rust-free.
Never liked chrome guards anyway.
There's a fairly substantial steel brace up inside it...
I think that brace, with the addition of a Telefix fork brace above it, will improve the front end a fair bit.
