I know you can't have both but I want something as good as the Dunlop GT501 but longer lasting. Problem is my rear is worn out now and my front GT501 is probably at half-life. I'd rather not replace the front, too, especially as I might not like the new tires! ;-)
I suppose the Lasertec and the GT501 (German and Japanese) and about as differnet as they get, huh? Unwise to mix? I hear it "depends". Great...
Well, this is probably my new rear tire. Comments anyone please?
I?m giving up a little bit of grip for some longer mileage. I keep going through two rear tires of the Dunlop 501?s every year. I?m afraid to buy full on cruiser tires on because I ride twisty?s a lot. I?ve never broken loose the rear tire with the 501?s and I hope the same is true for these tires, which are rated as slightly harder but last a lot longer. The 501?s look half-lifed after just 1000 miles. Cost difference is about $20 at the local shop.
More info here.
