Clutch info GS1100/GS1150

I know this has come up recently but I couldn't find the thread. I think I saw something about GS1100 clutches having a different gear than GS1150 clutches, 87 teeth vs. 89 teeth maybe? Can someone please enlighten me?

1150 has two more teeth on the basket gear.

With my 1230 kit and using an 1150 crank I have to use an 1150 clutch basket.
Won't be long now!

So the 1150 has 89 teeth?.....and is not compatible with an '83 1100E crank gear?

If the stock gear is 87 teeth an 89 tooth gear will be larger diameter and not fit in the application - unless you want to cast your own engine cases that is.

Yes Joe, 1100 is 87 & 1150 is 89 teeth. Ray.

Inner hubs are different too. The 1150 has a steel cast-in center that the 1100 didn't. They are interchangable.
