A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Confused over Dyna coils and spark plugs

true, most noise i had was while using the cigarette adapter and rubber duck antenna. the sent audio was fine regardless of being plugged in or not, and received audio was fine when using the battery pack. as this was on a vw and a jeep cherokee that were both running modified ignition systems, i suspect it was just the usual electrical interference speaker noise (high to higher pitch whining depending on rpm). of course the old hotwater 202's were great for modding, but imo were lacking in other areas.

the antenna i used on the vehicles were a pvc encapsulated copper tube slim jim and same materials 1/4 wave j-pole.

btw, nice to see another radio op :)

if you are ever in the terlingua/big bend area, hit the repeaters. kb5rob always has his on as does n1vzl, mine is kb5kou (for some reason still not showing as tech class, need to call them and sort that out).

I was really looking for nice yellow Accel 8mm copper core wires, but nobody around here carries them or had even seen them for years.
I have some yellow Accel graphite core suppressor wires that I took off one of the bikes I got.

You want them? You can have them. :D

They are complete with the right-angle boots for the coils and straight boots for the plugs.

.

Z1 also has some Dyna yellow suppression 7 m.m.s. Ordered a set with my new coils and plugs yesterday. Hopefully they'll get here about the same time as my stator, R/R, fork rebuild, POR-15. Next weekend's looking full.

Here's a link to the Z1 wires, they're gawdawful hard to find one their site. http://www.z1enterprises.com/detail.aspx?ID=207
