I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hi,

I had to purchase a #2 carb body for my gs1100 and I noticed that the new body doesn?t have this copper tube. Is there a way to swap it over to the new carb? I thought it might be soldered in but it doesn?t seem to want to budge.

That tube is pressed into the body. There are cross drilled holes at the base so if you tried to pull the old one out it may crack through the holes. If your old carb body is thrashed you could cut it apart and extract the tube, then drill out the broken tube in your new body and press the replacement tube in.

thanks. The new carb doesn’t have anything there so I’m wondering if I can just buy the replacement tube and press it in. Do you or anyone else know the part number of the tube?

When looking for part numbers go to Partzilla for info. I wouldn't bother in this instance though because the tube is not available.

There is no separate part number for that tube.

Replacing the carb body will be the best option, if you can't extract one from the old and insert into the 'new'.

Not sure if I have a BS34 sitting around, I can check in the morning.

Is the hole there in the carb body but just missing the tube? Do you still have the old carb w/tube that you can cut apart?

There is a hole in the new carb body. Looks like someone removed it which is why I was asking about a part number to replace it. The old carb body has a broken tube so I cant use that one. Unless I can find a replacement tube, it looks like i'll be buying another carb body.

If you are handy with tools you can fabricate a tube. K&S brass tubing is available at better hardware stores and hobby shops. You may need to flare out the diameter a little, which can be done with a tapered ground into the chuck side of a drill bit. You will have to roll over the end (the dimple in a threading die works) and drill the tiny holes in the base of the tube. I've not replaced one of those tubes in a BS carb but I've done a fair number of cracked tubes in Keihin float bowls before using the technique described.
