DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

ok, i'm still working on this fine gs 850,
still not running right, ,so pulled head off, had it gone thru,
now the issue is , noone will sell just the cyl head gasket,
i bought the base , valve cover, breather, tensioner all new intake seals seals for breather gasket for the air box ,everything, cannot find the cyl gasket, they want to sell the whole kit,, dont need the kit,
as of this writting, i now have close to 2000 dollars in this bike ,still not running, . im not a motorcyle guruo at all but the mechanics around here are goofballs, , had 3 diffrent ones work on it, they said it was running great, i get it back, backfires, wont start, strats wont idle, ,
please dont tell me its the carbs or intake leaks, these are all new, put in correctly,
as well as these are oem parts not aftermarket crap that dont fit right,
im in too deep to back away and take a dive , but ,
each mechanic says well its only 100 dollars i can fix it, 300 dollars later, still no bike to ride,!!!!

It's best to do your own work. That way you know it's been done right, plus it's cheaper.

You can buy an OE head gasket from Suzuki. Sounds like you need some better part sources to go along with doing your own work. Part Shark typically is cheaper than most for OE parts.

i have done far the most part my own work, but did have the three clowns try to
syc the carbs,, (what a joke!),
had it running better before the thre amigos touched it ,,,
i have since rebought new intakes seals ,gaskets, and new breather seals and air box seals and gaskets, along with new filter,, also, new breather gasket, new hose, new petcock, , carbs recleaned for the 4 th time and new gaskets,
i have redone the timing , and it is correct, and also, i rechecked my previous tappet clearance, , .04 , on all valves,
i have to recheck them since i have removed the cyl head , but that should be quick work,
this bike has never run anywhere close to right, as yet, thats why i took the head off, to have the valves checked and laped
which did myself,
if i put this thing together agin , and it doesnt run right again , i will be at a lose, completly!!
